Gaming on wireless keyboards

Got my Logitech MX3100 desktop yesterday (the one with the MX1000 Laser mouse) - excellent stuff, great quality! Perfect for games...or pretty much anything else. The mouse is very precise - very impressed.

I have a MS Wireless keyboard and mouse and have no problems. Make sure the wireless receiver is close and that you are running latest versions of MS software (intellitype/intellimouse etc). Only change my batteries every 6 months.

never use wireless keyboards/mouse for games.

trust me, i know what i'm doing

Evidently not, because I've been using a Logitech wireless desktop (MX3100) since March and have had no issues in games.

lol! i own a MX1000 too and never had issues in games... still rely on a USB keyboard though since batteries are a bit of a hassle for wireless keyboards ATM...

i also use A4Tech wireless desktop. no probs at all. maybe change bios settings. fiddle with repeat rate n stuff. cant remember the setting you enable in bios.

We use MS wireless KB and optical mouses as standard at work, and LAN gaming never gives us hassles. UT requires long key presses at times, and I've never found the problem you experienced.

try racing games, thats were the problem is.
Maybe it is the MS drivers that came with it

The receiver for the MS set has to be pretty close to keyboard or it starts missing keypresses.

yea believe me so damm close, could have been a wired keyboard!

I have been using the MS Wireless Elite - because it feels so good.

For control I believe that you ought to use a wired mouse - I have the MX518 and you probably ought to have one of those Xtreme mouse pads - the aluminium ones. That mouse pad freaks the wireless mouse out, as does a metal table.

How it all works - typically you plug your keyboard in the back of the computer yet you could but your mouse in a front USB port. How long are your cables? Wireless works for me, and I could use the wired rat at pretty much the same distance.

Following the BF2 session at the museum this WE, I could do with one of those plasma screens, and then I could play from a bit further back. Dreams.

I was using a steel table for a desk for awhile, and I was not impressed when I got my wireless mouse. Had endless hassles with it losing connection, etc.

I eventually bought a proper wooden desk, and now I have no issues whatsoever with my mouse - even still using the same set of batteries. It seems that the steel desktop interfered with the signal. Go figure.

Metal desk causing inteference !! Hmm never thought of that .. but then all my m & kb are wired.

I have had the exact same problems with my wireless microsoft keyboard and mouse. Like you said it mostly happens with racing games but I have also noticed it occasionaly with certain FPS games.

If you find a solution please let me know.

Good, its not only me;)
which model you got?

Its on my home pc but after a quick google it looks like its a Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 3.0 Keyboard and Mouse Combo BX2-00004. The fact that the keyboard works fine for some games makes me think that it might be a software issue and that there might be some solution for it.

As long as it works for Everquest one day when Telkom finally decides to install my adsl at home I'll be happy.

i got the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop comfort edition, exact same problem. The only solution i found was to have a old wired keyboard on standby! Its a pitty because the keyboard and mouse is really stunning

no not really, maybe now and again it will skip. Only really eacing games...
