Is it worth it to buy a 22" screen for R2500 when a 17 " is R1500 and a 19" is R1600 ? Can u plz check www.zones.co.za and check if the contrast of the 17" makes up for the size of the 19" ?

Yes! Get a 22' or you will regret it if you still plan to use your rig for gaming and movies.

So 8gb of ram won't work ? What does a wireless mouse do bad ?
4gb will be entirely sufficient for now. You can always add more later.

Not too sure what Nerf meant with the wireless thing. Only thing I can think of is that the batteries add weight which messes with the balance of the mouse. I'm using a wireless mouse to game and haven't run into any problems.

I've heard alot of ppl that have problems finding 64 bit drivers. And does everyone agree that 22" needed. Also wat would be a good cpu/ram/graphics card combination so i have no bottle neck effect.

Wait till your batteries on your mouse go flat during a game or your receiver gets confused and the mouse lags.

I used to work for Logitech and the G9 is great but thats only because of the hotswap battery and the awsome receiver.... I would still rate the G5 as a better mouse though.

wired mouse and keyboard FTW

there is no problems with 64 bit drivers, maybe on old pc stuff yes

anything made in the last 2 years should have drivers for vista 32 and 64 bit

22" inch is just awesome man

The system recommended by Frag is actually quite good within your budget, and with a smaller LCD on that system, you are limiting the gaming experience because you won't be able to run games at higher resolution since LCD does not support those resolutions. So the bottleneck will be the LCD if you are insisting smaller size display.

Do you live near Durban?
Coz if you do : BUY EVERYTHING from zones. They're by far the cheapest shop in SA.

The MOST important thing about your R13000 pc would be the screen, don't try and save money there...
22" is simply awesome.

On the mouse subject :
Gaming mice have more buttons!
You do even get wireless "gaming mice" like Logitech's G7, I know a few guys that play online COD4 with it, but I know only one that likes it... But remember to get a nice mousepad as well, you don't want to waste a good mouse on a crappy wood surface etc.

A wireless mouse has got a teeenie weenie delay in response time, and is too heavy :(

The CPU/RAM/GPU I mentioned should be fine if you're not planning to overclock. If you are, just swap the RAM out for 2x2GB OCZ SLi edition RAM @ landmarkpc.co.za, it'll be R1600 instead of R800 for 2x2GB.

Umm, I think you mean G7??

The G9 is their new WIRED 4000dpi mouse.

Yeah. unfortunately with "rounding-off" or some other stupid reason 32-bit only supports ~3.5GB RAM. But not an issue, with the 32-bit OS you only lose about R100 worth of RAM.

Get 64-bit XP/Vista/LINUX, the compatibility issues are give or take solved.

Have a look in the FAQ for a good explanation for why x86 only sees ~3.25GB (if I recall correctly) of the RAM :)

Ya i live close to pc zone. I don't want a stock pc from them though. I want a proper custom pc. Will R13000 build a reasonable pc ?

The PC I mentioned in my first post is top of the range... The only thing you can really improve is to buy Overclockable RAM.

AGAIN : Are you looking to overclock your PC, or leave it as is?

I haven't over clocked a pc yet. I don't know how much cooling i need. Or which m-boards are good for it. I don't want to buy a new pc and then melt it

Ya i live close to pc zone.

Then buy that pre-built Q9300 system from them.

Then add :
22" Samsung.
9800GTX
Different chassis
Better PSU
An extra 500GB HDD
Accessories

And you'll have a beast for under R13000

That P5K I mentioned in my first post is great for overclocking.
As is the Q9300, but you'll need different RAM.
If you get the chassis I mentioned you'd even get up to 3GHz on that Q9300 with it's stock cooler, which is more than adequate.

Thats what the low battery indicator is for. On my logitech it starts blinking about ~10 hours (usage) before it dies. When the battery is dead, it doesn't lag, the sensitivity/cursor speed just goes down over 30min until its completely dead.

As for delay, I think the 2.4ghz signal will cover the 30cm to the receiver in a fairly short amount of time.;)
