I just hope that pc at zones doesn't have a ***** m-board. . .

I think after 6 pages of advice, you'll have to make up your own mind in the end which of those to chose.
 
Thanx for all the help. Just one last thing. I just wanna know which would be a good m-board on landmark pc and which is a good clock able pc

You need to ask more specific questions. Good OC motherboard can go upto R4k+.
 
Well my whole pc should cost R13000 so i'm guessing the m-board should be about just over 1k

If you need motherboard just over R1K, you should still get what Frag suggested in his first reply, ASUS P5K from PcInternational, cheaper than what you pay from LandmarkPC.
 
And the cpu i've heared so much opinions with cpu's. Duel, quad ? Q6600 or Q9300 ?

I would personally suggest you get Q66, and the price difference between 66 and 93, put it into a better MB. Lots of ppl here enjoyed the fun of overclocking the CPU from stock 2.4 to 3.2GHZ. And a good MB can help you achieve a cooler, more stable overclocked system. But if you have no intention to overclock, stick to Frag's first suggestion.

Actually Frag's first reply is one of the best recommendation I have seen here, well balanced system with a lot of potentials, and he also considered the extra shipping cost of getting cheapest quoted prices from different vendor so he stucked to only two very good dealers.
 
If you buy the CPU at zones, there's only a R200 price difference.

Get the Q9300, it uses the new 45nm technology and will run much cooler (therefore giving OC results with a stock cooler that the Q6600 gives with an expensive cooler.)

The ASUS P5K is a great overclocking motherboard...

I've got an "expensive" R2500 motherboard and most guys can clock their P35 chipsets better than I can do on my 680i (corrects VDROOP etc)

I'd say that for your budget, the P5K is the best value for money (Go take a look, there's other P35 chipset motherboards that goes for R2500 as well...)

hmm I'd say go with E8400 instead of Q9300. Esp if you planning on overclocking. You can run an E8400 @ 4GHz 24/7 @ 1.35V where it'll will run circles around QX9650 even. Q9300/9450/9550 don't overclock well at all because the FSB limits on these are very low.

I have two machines running one with a Q9300 and the other with a Q6600 and surprise surprise with exactly the same cooling the Q66 wins temperature wise (load and no load)

The Q66 is oced to 3 and the Q93 is at stock and the 66 is still cooler.

Shocked the hell out of me but the facts were there.

p.s. G0 stepping (need another 4 now for the office)
 
Q6600 clocks well that's true (can get above 500MHz FSB all 4 cores) but this is not so with Q9300. 7.5x450 will only get you 3.37GHz and you'll struggle to keep 450MHz rock solid without hideous amounts of VTT and PLL voltage.

No quad at stock can match E8400 @ 4GHz in games and benchmarks save for 3DM06+Vantage
 
Everyone has different opinions about cpu's. Its getting confusing.
