Not sure this is the right place to post this : move if necessary.

I have a fairly new gps with traffic etc etc

Why does this road not exist - when from the looks of things, has been around for a looooooooooooooooooong time?

Johann Birkart Road, kempton

I had to use my phone as the gps doesn't pick it up. And when i finally get their, the roads don't even exist on the garmin?

I'm having my own issues with Garmin GPS'
Sadly, I will NOT buy another Garmin GPS again... I own 2 units, one is NEW (I have free updates for this unit) and the other is a older unit but (see below) now have free updates.

Simply because they make people pay for updates (older GPS') and still, roads that have been there for ages are either SPELT wrong on the GPS or don't exist at all (And I have proof of both statements as I have taken photos and forwarded them onto the guy below) but since then, no comments or replies from him.

Contact this person at Garmin and moan! [email protected]
He is some sort of technical guy there at Garmin.

I did, and he ultimately apologized and gave me a 'free' updates license for my 2360 and said he'd arrange to have the issue fixed... still waiting, but anyways...

Thanks, its not serious, where the garmin cant find stuff, i use my phone (i first jump onto google maps on my work pc to make sure i know more or less where i am going)

Have you used any TOM TOM devices at all?

I loaned a Tom Tom unit for a couple of days and enjoyed it, took some getting used too but didn't find any issues with it.

The problem is, and you said it, yes you can use your phone, but that is not the point - if you own a unit, it must do the job it is supposed to do, if not, it's pointless.
My other issue is, Garmin CHARGE people for map updates (older units) - yet, even if people buy the updates, you still not getting what you paying for (lets say, in your situation, you might have to pay for map updates, then you look for a road and don't find it) so do you get your money back? Road has been there forever, so its not excuse it should not be in the Garmin.

I paid for the units and I expect, no... I demand they do what they are supposed to do!

Got the Garmin Nuvi 2597 lmt and so far it has been working perfectly but did notice roads missing on my Nuvi 205w which were there before I updated, but it might be fixed in the new models will see when I use it elsewhere.

I just updated today to the 2015 maps and that road doesnt exist, you can fill out this form to help get it fixed.

Use these Co-Ordinates

26°06'54.0"S

28°13'29.0"E

Try update yours via Garmin Express

Milne St which connects to Johann Birkart Road is not shown at all on my garmin :)

Can't help with your problem, all I could suggest is make sure you are using the latest version. I personally have the Garmin Nuvi 42LM for $88 (cheapest one they had) and have never ever had problems with it, it has always picked up a road/address I needed to find, granted New Zealand is much smaller than South Africa. I usually have to look up about 20 new addresses a week.
