'Gauteng roadblocks not about E-tolls'

I got pulled over at an on-ramp this morning. William Nicol on the N1S.

The e-toll van was there, but it was the Gauteng Traffic police's road block. They were checking expired license disks. Embarrassingly, mine was, so they flagged me over to the side. The very friendly officer wrote me a fine and I was on my way. No questions about e-tolls, and when I asked him why the van was there, he said that he had no idea, and that they had nothing to do with the e-tolls.

Perhaps the traffic police are trying to capitalize on the e-toll fiasco, or vice versa. But these road blocks have nothing to do with SANRAL.

The roads blocks are about intimidation and harassment.
 
Anyone knows about apparent Sanral intimidation on M1 north just before Allendale !
 
Was just thinking the other day.. Haven't seen much of these road blocks recently
 
They had a roadblock on the Hans Strijdom on-ramp going to Pretoria at +-10am this morning.
I sat traffic police and two E-Toll vans with lights???? Why if they've given up??
I quickly put up my Zambiezi Bakwena toll gate machine and they obviously thought it was a E-toll one and let me through.
They were only pulling off vehicles without Tags and funnily enough that highway hasn't got e-tolls YET!!!

Fkers.
 
They are on the N1N on ramp on 14th Ave daily.

By Constantia Kloof? I must be lucky cos I take that on ramp home a couple of times a week. Never seen them.

I do see cops on the N1S on ramp some mornings though.

Yes sir. By the MTN office park. They're there mostly around lunch time -ish. If I have to get out of the office I usually tip toe around teh on ramp to see if there is a build up of traffic. If there is, I continue straight with 14th to Cresta.
