Gearbest.com - Any good?

So i need some advice,
ordered a fitness watch for the 94.7 race on sunday, i ordered it on the 26th of October with aramax shipping, and gearbest only sent it on the 5th of October with normal shipping.
I am no longer interested in the watch, what is the best way to get a refund?
i logged a call with paypal already.
and btw, i still can not track the order with the reference number i was given.
I must say that is BS from GearBest. Why send it via a cheaper option when you picked the more expensive one?

Shipping service was Aramex priority mail.
Shipping cost was $15.

Value of order (less shipping) was $27
Mix of stuff. HDMI adapters, vape cotton, cable organizers, USB chargers, air vent cell mount for car, etc..
All items in one package.

10 items in total. Not 11 as indicated. Had to remove a powerbank which I forgot about.
Thanks for the info, well priced for courier, did they explain why you weren't charged duties?

From what I understand anything below R500 doesn't get vat or duties charged if sent via the courier like Aramex or DHL.

I was at the office. Got home and it was on my desk :)

I bought a Miband 2 with "Priority Line" shipping. Now Gearbest is telling me after payment was made through Paypal:

"With Aramex,we can not ship your package out. Because we can not get the tracking number.
We advise you to change the (sic) regular mail."

Hello! There is no such thing as "regular mail" in South Africa! :(

Weird, that's how I shipped mine. I'm sure a lot of us have done the same. Gearbest seems dodgy lately. I think I will have to go to banggood for my next order, and still ship with Aramex via AGS.

Used aramex for a pracel ordered on the 26 of October, the warehouse delay was some till the 4th or 5th November, before it eventually shipped out but smooth after that, didn't get sms's or emails from aramex when you sign up for notifications, so had to keep monitoring for the held in customs and waiting for payment on tracking that said it's been in South Africa 4 days and managed to move through customs and in transit to the delivery hub, which isn't bad at all.

There is another 2 items I would like to order this week, wanna see how that goes :D

Does Gearbest consolidate orders into one parcel, if you order 5 different items in one order will they all get sent together?

They are like Amazon, some things are fulfilled by Gearbest others via 3rs parties?

If I remember correctly in the past a single order got split into 3 parcels, that was not the end of the world beforehand but this new R24 per parcel fee at the Post office isn't great in that regard.

What is the cheapest shipping that bypasses the Post Office?

The R24 per parcel fee will only be charged if you select Airmail as a shipping method. Priority Line (Aramex) does not charge that fee but do charge R50 if there is any customs clearance payment required.

Cheapest Express shipping option is Priority Line.

Hi,

Since SA's selection of laptops is so bad, I think I might be using gearbest soon. What is the best shipping option? Priority line?

How long can I expect to wait with Priority line?

If the item is in stock, it can take up to 5 days to ship out. After that, it should be delivered in 5-7 days. I normally estimate items to be delivered within 2 weeks or so from date of payment.

That's amazing, what shipping type/service did you select?
What value were they items, how customs forget to charge duties?
Did they send all 11 items in one package and were they all similar type of items?

Do note that all items sent with Aramex valued under R500 does not get charged customs. Also, if the customs charge (Vat, Duties and Tax) is under R100 combined, Aramex covers it for you and do not charge. I have confirmed this with them and got it on Email. DHL still charges though. Not sure why yet but it is one of the reasons why I do not use them anymore. And their prices are insane.

Do note that AGS does not ship certain items so do be careful. I know that certain battery items cannot be shipped from China so just verify before you use this service.

Gearbest does seem to be messing up but for the people who are facing issues, I am busy trying to resolve the issue. It is not a perfect system but I am pushing them to resolve the issues. If the incorrect service is used, we are trying to arrange a resend of the item using the correct method. I have been using them for over 12 months and do not seem to face many issues. Once in a while, they will split and try send one package airmail but they email first and I tell them to resend to the same address and then they send it with no issues. The major issue is the support center as they are not very good and giving clear responses but I have tried to remove them from the loop but this cannot be done till sales increases in SA.

The bad part is that if they keep messing up orders and not resolving the issues, they will lose sales and never reach their targets. They do have a lot of nice stuff and shipping is cheap but they need to fix the flow of the order and ensure better service and delivery to increase the growth of sales.

When using Aramex (GearBest Priority Line), is it best to ship to a Street address or a P O Box number?

As far as I am aware, you cannot ship to Post box with any Express service (Aramex or DHL) as they require signature signature for confirmation of delivery. I always ship to my work address and that is a physical address and it is perfect.

Thanks for the info, appreciate the help. If you choose to ship an order with airmail, at checkout is there anyway to tell if an order of multiple different items will be sent as one package or many packages?

This R24 charge now means ordering small items on their own is not worth it, if they break orders up into single parcels it can get hugely expensive when it arrives.

There is no way to confirm as they ship out depending what is in stock and the time frame in which the rest of the stock will arrive. When shipping with Aramex, splitting is actually better as it drops the value of each package and they normally come through with no customs charges. With Airmail, it seems to cause more issues.

Got a 3D printer incoming from Gearbest and Aramex priority mail. Quite nerve wrecking to say the least. Have never ordered an import directly myself before. I hope there are no issues. Was shipped on the 15th.

Pm me your tracking number and I will keep an eye on it. Can also let you know when to call Aramex and supply the required information for them to process clearance and can push them a bit as well where I can.

Just got called from Aramex, the parcel is at customs and they didn't need anything from me? Is that correct?

They would have asked you to pay for their handling fee/customs etc usually around R200+ but it depends.

Maybe they will do that today. Just confirmed my email address and ID number. I asked them to confirm tracking number and what was being shipped.
