I dunno how long Tinydeal has been around but happy with the service I received, shipped in promised time and prompt response to queries. Or maybe it was just me getting lucky.

I've ordered from Gearbest on the 17th of November. For some reason I dunno, I thought it might make it for Xmas. Clearly not. 2.5 months later and I don't have an idea when I can ever expect to receive it.
(Instead of unregistered mail I decided to use the only other option which didn't cost an arm and a leg which was Swedish Registered Mail with tracking number)
The tracking is pointless.

Are Gearbest and Everbuying the same company? I've noticed they stock a lot of the same goods, but their pricing structure differs slightly.

They have exactly the same loyalty system though. Everbuying has EB Points while Gearbest has, you guessed it, GB Points. They seem to be sister companies at the very least.
 
So my second order on 29 January landed in my hands this morning and included a clear cover for my "still in shipment" Xiaomi Mi A1, 2x red USB-C cables (because my cables have to match my new phone), a 32gb Sandisk MicroSD and a MEROSS USB Wifi adapter which works bloody well for the $6 I paid for it! Package skipped customs and was duty free. Tracking for this order: COVERS and CABLES.PNG Not included is my DashCam from the same order - they split this into a different tracking number and it is somewhere between Hong KOng and Dubai.

I'll definitely order small things with Priority Line from Gearbest again. What was neat was that the APP alerted me that the driver was on the way and I was next for delivery and I could track him.

I now await my phone (ordered 19 January) which cleared customs on Friday afternoon and I paid the duties invoice this morning. I am hoping they overnight the phone to me for tomorrow delivery...

So after Gearbest messed up one of my orders they decided to ship it through standard $2 shipping service, actually pretty shocked at the speed, seems to have skipped customs completely and straight to the distribution hub

Last order of mine took 10 days to arrive to me from date of order. Not all items are in stock and depends when stock can be arranged. It is not the quickest but the cheapest I have seen thus far. I am sure there are cheaper shipping methods but am not aware of them.

That is great news, do you have any idea of the new shipping company might be a bit more lenient with lithium batteries?
 
I can now officially highly recommend Gearbest with Aramex couriers. Small items arrived in a week, while I received my Xiaomi Mi A1 today after 2 and a half weeks - what a pleasure! My Mi A1 has landed at my door R1700 cheaper than if I had bought locally (although as I chose red, it is not available locally anyway)

Always choose Priority Line / Middle East Express paid shipping and you'll get your order.

Sooo happy!
 
Good to hear as I've just ordered a Redmi 4X via Aramex which has been shipped according to tracking..
 
I want to order again now. Tempted to get a Mi Max 2 to play with or wait for a Mi Max 3 later this year.

Or, should I surprise SO with a Rose Gold Mi A1?

I'm actually a non-shopper. All I do is save. Never buy tech or clothes etc.

But, After 2 1/2 years of prepaid, I had well over R10k saved in my "cellphone slush" account so what the heck, time to have a bit of fun :)

Save almost R800 a month since ditching contract. Quite happy to buy a new mid-ranger every 6-12 months and sell off the good condition previous phone and put that money back into the kitty. 24 months is far too long to own a phone and I just cannot justify flagship money.

I also have free R5k cellphone insurance with my insurer so a mid ranger fits in perfectly there too

Contracts are ****. Also ordered my xiaomi from gearbest.

If i remember correctly you have like two Telkom "uncapped" LTE devices, so you probably can just add that sim to your phone which gives you the data and Just buy like a R100 airtime for when you need to make calls.
