Gears 2 or COD4 Multiplayer -

I'm kinda new to XBL, so I wonder if one of the more experienced guys can help me -

I tried getting into public multiplayer games but both Gears 2 and COD4 just sit on "looking for teammates" and "match quality" and don't connect to any games... My NAT is open so I don't think that's the problem...

On the other hand - I have been playing skate 2 and burnout paradise online for weeks with no problems -

Could it be that my connection is deemed too slow by the servers to play these games or is it maybe a common problem in SA... or is it that I am just getting started and it's a rank problem? I dont really know anyone else that plays on XBL so I just thought I'd ask... maybe I should just stay away from shooters...

Anyway - if anyone's into skate 2 add me - my GT is "unit r"

Just get a bunch of locals on your friends list, and join their games. The pings from here is too bad for international FPS.

And get COD5, no-one plays COD4 local anymore.

I don't have a XBL, but I can tell you right now that COD4 or COD5 (4 more than 5 though) will def be better via MP.

There should be lots of peeps still playing COD4 its hard to find a copy, also its double XP weekend next weekend

For COD4 i had the same problem after that xbox update 2 updates back.
I found that i had to set my locale to SA before it would connect to a match....i can connect via 3G with moderate NAT so you should be able to get on,theres always players there...."find match " / "free for all" anyway.

Nope the locale setting didn't do it and my NAT is def open, all ports forwarded correctly - maybe I shoud go back to moderate hehe

Thing is - I got invited into a game and it worked fine - so it must be a matchmaking problem...
