Geewiz.co.za

I have to mention that Geewiz is by far my online retailer of choice, received amazing service from them in past. Especially with returns that can be a real pain
They are the best online retailer in SA by a country mile.
Geewhiz shill team checking in for work :p
Jokes, they are amazing, as can be seen by the reps responses on the forum, highly recommended

Don't have issues with Geewiz, bought more than a few times from them. But courier experience with my last order, was not good.

They stopped 3 meters from my place of work, for a period of 15 minutes, but where unable to climb out of their vehicle and make the delivery. I was not in the office, but had told them it was perfectly fine to deliver my item to my employer, who would take delivery on my behalf - lots of stories afterward.

Probably be awhile before I buy from them again, as I am not lus for their courier.

Grrr, sometimes these courier guys need a bit of a slap on the wrist. So silly to cause a sour taste for such little effort on their part. I'm going to PM you for your order number so that I can escalate this to the courier company

Maybe they where expecting someone to come out to their vehicle and ask them, politely "Can we help you Sirs in any way"

I don't know, but I do know, I would rather avoid them, if possible.

Thanks, for the follow up

I ordered an item from Geewiz yesterday after having had excellent service from them earlier in the week.
Unfortunately, their excellent order processing time and dispatch from warehouse has been ruined by The Courier Guy whose cretins in Jhb. have sent my package to Durban; I live in Potchefstroom. The local agent did not seem too perturbed this morming, saying " it happens a lot because we are busy". I might now receive the parcel next Wednesday.

Why do we have to be blessed with cretins in this life, maybe, I should not be wondering out loud. SIGH

PM sent - will try our best to sort this out!

I've placed orders at Geewiz for more than R40k this year so far.
Excellent service and good pricing.
Had a problem with an item in one order and it was sorted out quickly

I think it is only right and fair to advise all that, after my post above, both Geewiz and The Courier Guy have communicated with me several times to express apologies and to describe what is being done to rectify the situation. I will have no qualms about dealing with either company again because the after sale concern has been quick and genuine.

I've only ever had exceptional experience with Geewiz until my last order which I had a slightly not so great experience. It wasnt anywhere near a poor experience but had to include some intervention on my part, which was a little unnecessary.

Placed an order on Thursday late afternoon, expecting the order to dispatch on Friday. I phoned in on Friday afternoon just before 4pm to which they confirmed it would ship. It didnt.
They had however made the waybill with Courier Guy on Economy shipping which takes 3 - 5 days, not the overnight they advertise.

Gave them a call this morning to which they apologized and said it would go with the cheapest shipping option. I pushed and insisted they send with Overnight because thats what they advertise, next business day shipping to main centres.
After that, I got a call back minutes later saying that they agree to ship it with overnight.

This did frustrate me some what as its advertised in their terms and conditions, while they made it sound they were doing me a favour by doing this.

Nevertheless, it wont change my opinion on Geewiz, they are amazing and I've always had phenomenal experience with them. 1 small blip like this wont change that.

Actually, I'm a bit peeved now.

They shipped the parcel with road freight economy, ETA is now Thursday. What irks me is their policy is overnight:

And all they've been able to do is say "sorry, no idea why it was shipped with economy", and thats it.

Was willing to pay a premium with Takealot to get it the next day, but yeah.
First world problem, but still, dont over promise and underdeliver. Has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Edit: I live in a major centre.

That's frustrating. They must remove the false advertising.

Takealot takes weeks to deliver these days. I've canceled a couple orders or reject on day of delivery because in the time they took to deliver I have already bought it somewhere else.

In fact one order was going to take them 3 weeks. I got it from another online store next day and it's not even in a major city.

Even Amazon US delivers faster that takealot.

I received a call back where they blamed the courier for it going on economy. Now, working in retail myself with both an online presence and multiple stores nationwide, and dealing with couriers from small parcels, to full truck loads, as well as containers, I know that couriers ship according to what the waybill was made under.

I told them this, and the chap said thats what his manager told him to say.

Sent them a mail expressing that I'm upset and that a manager couldn't even be bothered to contact me.

You know what I got in response? A 100% AI generated response. They couldn't even dignify me with a humans response.
They've successfully converted me from a big fan to someone who will actively tell people to not even bother ordering from them.

If any of our reps did this, they'd be in deep s**t. And my last few posts are evidence of this.

First world problems
100% as I stated 2 posts ago.

The point I'm making is more, dont overpromise and under deliver, and lastly, customer service is damn important, don't shrug off your customers because, the economy is not doing great, sales are down across industries, and it's more critical than ever to get the basics right to retain your customer base.

I'm a drop in the ocean amongst their customers, but you still treat your smallest customer as good as your biggest. Perhaps my years in working retail and aftersales has made me ultra sensitive to crap service. I always say "how would I want to be treated" when I talk to a customer, and I've kind of expected the same in return when the roles are reversed.

Someone buggered up. It happens. I’d buy from Geewiz before any other vendor if they have stock just based on my experience and their quick delivery. It sucks when it goes wrong, I know.
100% agree, like what I said in my first post, always had good experience and won't let a blip like that sway me, but when there are several stuff ups right after each other on the same order, plus a lack of customer service, that's when I start to question whether it's become the norm.

Mistakes happen, but when we repeat those same mistakes, it shows we don't care.
