GeForce 6600GT not healthy

try to play with the driver settings maybe, or reset them, or reinstall the driver
 
It's very likely caused by overheating. Check the fan on the card, and the temperature inside the case. Try running it with the side of the case off, and see if that helps.
 
Any other new software installed? Try a rollback first.
 
Temperature says 51 degrees C. I've tried it in my pc and my gf's pc. Uninstalled drivers, reinstalled, etc etc. It was working fine in the one pc yesterday, turned it on today and now it's dead.

Did you install the latest nVidia driver version 81.98? I've found on my machine that it over clocked the memory and the GPU just a little bit 1.07Ghz for the memory and 533MHz for the GPU. This, when playing a game for 5 min, resulted in much the same results as in your attached pic. Get the Coolbits registry file from guru3d and run it. This will open new options in your advanced tab in your screen settings menu called "Clock frequency settings". Make sure the frequencies are not more than normal, and if they are, just drop them a little.

I am not sure what drivers were installed on my gf's pc. I don't think they were the latest ones. I will try your suggestion with an older set of drivers.

That looks like over heating to me, chech the fan as ravid said.
Another thing take the card out and put it back in... this worked once with me with my geforce2 like 5 years ago

well if it does it in both, then yes, must be a hardware issue

presuming it in under warranty go get it replaced
 
Any idea why movie playback/windows etc works fine? Only when I play games does the display go like that..

well sort of, when you play games it uses many features that are not used at all while in normal windows/movie modes, like the vertex engines, shaders etc
 
I had similar strangeness on my old card, turned out it wasn't getting enough power [needed a larger PSU]. Worked fine in normal windows apps, games it acted weird. but yea, if it worked fine before in the same pc..probably not it.
 
I am going to have a hard time explaining this to my gf.

It was working fine for her last night, I turn it on this morning and now this..
