Does it matter which card reader I get? Will the speeds be slower if I get one of those that can read almost all different types of cards? Does the Extreme reader really perform better?

The Extreme performs very well - better than the built-in all-in-one that my HP laptop had. Can't say much beyond that - I've only ever had this one and the built-in one.

I handled a canon last night and I am happy that I went Nikon, was cool to have 15 focus points though :(

// Nope, i leave it in there until its used then switch out for my second battery
// Are you using a battery that came with your camera or aa penllights kind of thing?

Do you guys remove the battery when you're done using your cameras?
Nope. Means wasting time putting it back if you need the camera in a hurry (eg an interesting bug appears). With my 350d, I don't even switch the camera off when I put it away ;)

I do that too but only cos I forget to. :o

Just thinking but on the 400D it might not auto clean the sensor if you dont?

// Enough to fill a 4 gig card and more
// but i never use flash
// and i have a spare from a canon Video camera which uses two batteries every two hours or so
