Anyone use an eye patch when shooting?

I find it difficult to focus with right eye when left eye isn't completely closed. Have to squeeze my cheek up, or lately use my free hand to cover my left eye :o.

Edit: I normally wear glasses, but shoot without them.

I normally shoot with my R-eye open (L-eye shooter) and just use the old brain to switch between whichever eye I want to look through!

I've also started shooting with my specs on - it's quite lekker if you have prescription Polaroid lenses.

No, I shoot with both eyes depending on where the action is but I knew a few shooters (of the rifle variety) back in my day that would wear an eye patch.

Are you maybe left eye dominant? If so, then you will find it easier to shoot with your left eye instead.

Awesome day in cpt again. Damn.

Trying to sort out my bag for next month's trip to the UK…

Chargers, cables, pocket wizards, and a spare flash will have to go in my checked baggage - not much space for anything else - and I'll have to stuff the GoPro and possible my EOS-M into my jacket pockets.

You have a reason for wanting to take that 400mm monster?

Landscapes… :p

I'm heading over for the RWC. Canon is one of the sponsors and I know they'll have lenses and bodies on hand to use but I'm not sure how all that is going to work. Hopefully I'll get my hands on a 200-400 f/4 once or twice :)

By the way, where did you get the name bwana? I thought it was pretty unique until I started chatting to "you" on Petapixel and it wasn't you.

I spent a fair amount of time in Kenya before I came to SA - it's Swahili for mister/master…

Did you visit the Kakamega Forest while you were there? If so, do you have any pictures?

I did, but it during the 10-15 year gap in my photography.

What brand/type of AA batteries do you guys use for a Dslr?

For a dslr? Do you mean in a grip battery caddy?

I use Uniross Hybrio 2100mAh in my flash and PocketWizards.
