The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM got delivered today. I'm so excited!![]()
Ja I'm like a kid taking photos of everything now just to get the feel of it and it is amazing. Have already come across what you speak of.Nice. Have fun! Out and out value for money glass that.
And have fun throwing away photos where the nose is in focus but eyes are out of! Potent DOF when used for close up portraits and wide open
To be honest and you've mentioned it yourself. Prime zooms fit your style and what you aim at/for a lot better.I should probably get my 50mm f/1.4 repaired one of these days.
It’s been sitting in a drawer for the last three years.

Are you talking about prime lenses or a zoom lenses? Personally I am not a fan of fixed focal length (prime) lenses. To be honest and you've mentioned it yourself. Prime zooms fit your style and what you aim at/for a lot better.]
Prime zoom is probably not the correct term. Are you talking about prime lenses or a zoom lenses? Personally I am not a fan of fixed focal length (prime) lenses.
The little bit of sport I did while I was still in the rugby scene![]()
Long story but the short of it was that I wanted it to be more than just a hobby and it was never going to happen with Rugby15.Why did you stop? We still do LionsWorld
I am indeed wrong with my terminology.
I mistakenly had in my mind that "prime" referred to the low aperture characteristics instead of the fixed focal length.
Today I learned...
I also find primes very restrictive. When I was doing model photography everyone said you must get a 50mm f/1.4 USM. I got something close and used it twice. Also prefer my zoom lenses. I don't like getting that close to people.
Yeah, I prefer zooms to primes. If I had the funds I'd buy the 200-400 f/4 and mothball my 400mm f/2.8 for when I really need the f/2.8.

It think better term would be "constant aperture zoom lenses "like 24-70mm F/2.8I am indeed wrong with my terminology.
