Shelby Twp. police chief on paid leave after tweets glorifying police brutality

The Twitter account in question has been deleted but screenshots circulating online show tweets that seem to promote police taking drastic action against those participating in the current anti-police brutality protests rocking the nation.

"Trump threatening to deploy the military. I have a better idea: unleash the real cops and let them take care of these barbarians. I promise it will be over in 24 hours. Cops are crippled by politicians and the (what appears to be the word) media,” one tweet said.

Shelby Township's southern border is Hall Road, which is the site of a planned Black Lives Matter march on Saturday afternoon. The township police department is involved in helping to police that event.

In a statement emailed to the Free Press, Shelide said: "While an apology is insufficient and an insult to the gravity of my comments, I humbly and respectfully ask for the courtesy of forgiveness to those I have offended, to my department and more importantly to those I am sworn to serve.

Video of cops pushing this guy over and he cracks his skull open.

What do police say happened?

"One person was injured when he tripped & fell."

Insane. They lie, as easy as breathing, when there are how many cameras around?

What are they like when there are no cameras?

I was just watching that one on twitter.

It looks like the guy took a soccer dive after being pushed not too hard by the cop.
So the cop just shook his head.

Not being a grass pitch, it seems he bumped his head and blood came out; head injuries bleed quickly.

Once the blood pops out and is visible, the other cop calls in medics.

Not sure what the guy was doing in between the cops anyway. Maybe goading them?

Obviosly people in the comments section see it very differently.

He aggressively goes toward riot police - like what on earth did he think was going to happen? This is Darwin award material.
Probably a innocent guy just trying to get past and go on with his day.
You just can't expect to police to have time to hear out everyones sob story when they are clearing rioters.

1991 - I was in Std 8 (Grade 10). My grandparents lived in Linden. Grandma was in bed of a broken hip and grandpa worked his garden. Blacks broke in, raped grandma while another stood with his shoe on grandpa's neck - left them for dead.
Guaranteed not the first, last or only case. BUT Floyd is world news.

Fckem cuntz.

This is bound to set race relations back decades.
Normal people can only take so much looting and rioting. Everyone knows by this time it's no longer about George Floyd it's just an excuse to get out of the house, get out of lockdown, burn some shít, and imposed communist BS on everyone.

Lol, shedding your skins I see.

The old guys is walking towards the police. No aggression. You can see he is trying to negotiate or reason with them.

They push him out the way. He is old, of course he is going to fall over.

Someone wants to help him, gets told not too.

It takes a National Guardsmen to kneel down and start administering care.

Sorry about your grandparents but were the “blacks” who broke in police officers? Just trying to understand how this relates to the case.

Fckem cuntz do you mean the police?
