The US statistics for example. Are they to justify that demographics should over ride law? What I mean is that will they be applied to all spheres, equally and fairly; or is it just selective to black compared to "other" or white as regards the criminal justice system? It seems that the stats do not show that one race group is wrongly stopped, searched, arrested, tried, convicted and imprisoned at every stage but more that it is done disproportionately so. Is the solution then to overlook crime by some or target other race groups more intensively until the stats balance according to demographics?

Is there a deeper social issue and, if there is, why was it never addressed, even in two terms of a democrat as president? Or is it all down to the police who seem to be front, left and centre target?

So because the Russians were better equipped to fight a winter war, the Germans were actually better equipped? Literaly what you are saying, as the reason the Russians were saved, is because their planning and strategy with regards to winter warfare were superior and they took strategic and tactical advantage thereof.

Russian T-34 tanks were superior than most german tanks. The ones they were inferior to, were not produced in sufficient numbers by Germany to make any tactical advantages.

Zhukov out maneuvered the Germans. Summer offensive of 1942 stopped the Germans. They got bogged down in the winter of 1942 and were encircled and an entire German division was effectively wiped out.

Russians successfully gave up land and played for time, so they could muster adequate forces to counter the German forces in key strategic battles.

By 1944, with Operation Bagration, Germany could offer little effective resistance and the Soviet forces steamrolled the Nazis all the way back. Within 10 days the Soviets pushed them back from Minsk to the pre-war Poland border.

They were in Berlin pretty soon afterwards.

Eh, I don't agree they were saved by the winter. Yes, the winter played a massive role as the Wehrmacht was severely unprepared for the winter and thousands of soldiers died just from the cold. But to boil down their victory to just the winter is demeaning. Operation Barbarossa failed way before that. That's not to say the German forces were not amazing themselves. They were. They defined modern tactics and force multiplication.

The Combat Studies Institute of the US Army put together case studies for fighting the Soviets in Winter, and touch upon the Wehrmacht's failure.

American lend-lease was also a big saver for the Soviets, that coupled with the thousands of tanks that Hitler refused to believe the Soviets were able to produce (there's literally a recording of him not believing the massive mistake he's made), as well as the shear amount of soldiers the Soviets threw at the Nazis that would make any Zerg player proud.

I highly recommend watching it in it's entirety even if you're clued up on WW2 just for the production value. The atomic bomb section is especially tear-jerking.

Agreed. Lend-lease provided such a massive boost to Soviet logistics and offensive capabilities

Those Ford trucks were everywhere. Stalin's Organ was fixed to them and these were devastating. The Nazis hated it with a passion.
