Americans folks chatting in our office this morning are asking exactly this - whats driving it all.
The folks I am talking to are employed, middle class and among a bunch of races and nationalities.

Looking at this from a purely South African perspective - its black and white ... and its easy to draw a comparison between the racial tensions in SA and what we perceive to be those in the USA.

Looking at it from a US perspective, well, its way past the George Floyd issue, and is now - who, how and what is being profited from all of this?
I think there is more than one agenda at play.
Even on this thread, opinion has given way to snappy finger pointing and heal biting. Playing the OP over playing the issue at hand for some personal satisfaction.

To your comment - I am literally being spammed with news flashes every 10 minutes, and of course, the complimentary before the 0.99c special for our online tabloid offer....

So, yeah, I think part of the fuel to this is tabloid profits.

Former Cleveland Cavaliers guard JR Smith took to social media this weekend after apparently beating up a rioter who broke his truck window in Los Angeles.

The free agent acknowledged that there’s video of the beatdown, (which can be viewed below), and emphasized that he chased down the rioter after he allegedly attacked his truck. “This ain’t no hate crime,” he says in the video, making a reference to the rioter being white.


“Before y’all see this s*** somewhere else, one of these little mother f***ing white boys didn’t know where he was going, broke my f***ing window in my truck,” he says, “broke my s***.”

Instead of bleating about how Kapernick was a "traitor", maybe people should have listened more.

The amount of conservatives, such as Pence or Larhen who are asking why can't protestors protest peacefully, while having screeched and fussed and fumed at Colin's peaceful protest is the least surprising element of this disaster.
