George Floyd death

No problems here.

"In secret recordings, police officers in Mount Vernon, NY say their colleagues framed innocent people again and again. The District Attorney got these tapes last year but kept prosecuting people - without disclosing the evidence."

The only person punished was the whistleblower.
The blue wall of silence in the US is very real and it's made worse by police unions who will vociferously support dodgy cops under investigation. The sad thing is it doesn't end with cops, prosecutors know that in order to get anything done they need to work with police which means that they are generally terrified to make any move against suspect policemen for fear that they will ruin their ability to prosecute cases.

It's a vicious cycle...

Clearly.
I honestly am having trouble understanding what exactly you are accusing who of.....
Not accusing anyone of anything, just noticing that that post were completely ignored. That is quite important as it casts doubts on crime statistics, something some here are relying on heavily in their arguments.

Would've expected at least some comment on that. But as ratman says, it's highly unlikely.

Perhaps looks at socio-economic data rather than skin colour? Or are you suggesting that black people are genetically predisposed to commit crime or do you think that there are socio-economic and societal factors at work? Do you think a black man raised with a middle class upbringing in the suburbs is also that much more inclined to commit crime than his white compatriots?

Why do people always take the lazy (and racist route) by saying "blacks commit more crime" as opposed to"saying "working class poor people in sh*tty areas with bleak futures commit more crime"
Left: "look at skin colour, black, systematic racism, fsck the police they are racist, black lives matter."

Someone: "Black people commit more homicides"

Left: "Okay let's not look at skin colour anymore."

The problem isis that intact families are not always happier, is it really a better environment for a kid for his/her parents to stay in a failing marriage and be miserable and have that affect the upbringing of their child? I am all for happy partnerships staying together but am not convinced that people staying in an unhappy marriage is necessarily better for a child's development.
The parents are not necessarily happier but the kids are especially if they never realize there are bad tensions in the first place, many times kids get a utter shock when parents suddenly divorce.

Also it's been proven that children from divorced homes are more likely to divorce themselves and less likely to form long lasting relationships.... the life altering trauma of divorce is real.

And then you have the parents many times going nuts because of the trauma of divorce, the phenomena of "beware the freshly divorced almost predatory woman" for example actually happens I have seen it myself enough times.

Many times older generation couples also have been on the brink of divorce but then they stayed together anyway and ended up happy.... todays snowflake culture divorces as soon as they stub a figurative toe.

That's missing the point. I'm not talking about unhappy partners. I'm talking about the tradition of settling and focusing about the responsibilities that it entails. A couple who fights everyday shouldn't try to stay together if that is what their kids have to go through. But traditional marriages is as a package considered a massive life choice including having children, so couples who've been part the traditional culture tends to hold out a bit more ensuring they're making the right choice before making these decisions.

Why? The US legal system corruption is well known, but when someone right leaning mentions it he/she gets called a conspiracy theory nutcase.

Highlights package for the week and some truth bombs.

I think it's the modern tendency to stray from "two become one" and "man is the head of the house" that is the cause of the increased divorce rate and skyrocketing emotional distress. People are messing with human nature and it backfires but instead of course correction they double down and only make things worse.

The very modern thing has become "marriage is temporary" or "this is my starter marriage" and so on and people are only digging graves for themselves.

Now using the Bible as a strictly moral guide rather than a religious one it's also easy to notice that even though polygamy was tolerated.... not one single polygamous marriage in it was without trauma of some kind because of the plurality. The moment you stray from the correct balance it backfires.

But all this is off topic

That's very anecdotal, plenty of kids do pick up on unhappiness within a marriage, you can't generalize.

Personally I am all for relationships staying together, I just don't think that people should stay together at the expense of their own happiness if they have grown apart.

Thats because the parents act like children themselves, throwing temper tantrums and such for the kids to bear.

It's both for better and for worse for a reason, simply saying "i'm unhappy so I'm leaving" is a obvious breach of contract.

Not in this thread, just a few posts up the same argument that blacks commit more crime comes up, but the argument relies on corruption, or stats coming from corruption?

"Black Lives Matter" should be re-named. I suggest "American Black Lives Matter"

138 pages about some dude in Yanksville but not a single thread about the "over enthusiastic" cops that killed eleven SA citizens. I'm guessing at least some of them were black. Oh wait they were all black.
