Police hunt suspect after pregnant Tshegofatso Pule found hanging from tree
Gauteng police have launched a massive manhunt after the body of a pregnant woman was found in Durban Deep, Roodepoort.
Tshegofatso Pule’s body was found hanging from a tree on Monday.
The 28-year-old also had stab wounds.
Police said that Pule was last seen at West Lake Complex in Florida, where her boyfriend lives.
CCTV footage shows him accompanying Pule to a car which she leaves in.

Leading questions with zero context won't get you particularly meaningful responses.

If you phrased it as "redirect some funds currently used for police to social investment like community development, mental health treatment and social services" you'd get very different responses, even though in reality that's what people are talking about.

But at the same time, it's very stupid how some activists prefer to phrase and sloganeer things in a way that's maximally unappealing to most people.

is police brutality more race or class based ?

take wealthier areas be it brentwood in los angeles or manhatten in ny.
or hurlingham and hyde park locally.

police seem to act with restraint knowing the locals will "lawyer up" within minutes, whereas in poorer areas the police know the locals lack the means to instantly lawyer up.

assume floyd were a black wall street banker or broker - would the same scenario have gone down ?

Ditto. Worked on an H-1B in the 00's. The business had to demonstrate that they had advertised the position at a fair rate to locals before they were allowed to advertise it to foreigners. And I think it has to be at the same rate at least, too (was the case when I lived there, anyway).

Do I think we should not have police departments in America? No, I don’t. There’s no city in the world that does not have police departments. What you need are—I didn’t call for more money for police departments. I called for police departments that have well-educated, well-trained, well-paid professionals. And, too often around this country right now, you have police officers who take the job at very low payment, don’t have much education, don’t have much training—and I want to change that. I also called for the transformation of police departments into—understanding that many police departments and cops deal every day with issues of mental illness, deal with issues of addiction, and all kinds of issues which should be dealt with by mental-health professionals or others, and not just by police officers.

I think we want to redefine what police departments do, give them the support they need to make their jobs better defined. So I do believe that we need well-trained, well-educated, and well-paid professionals in police departments.
