Get your credit history/record. Avoid what I'm facing.

I had a fun time this year that FNB flagged me as a non payer on a temporary loan and this reflected on 2 of the Credit Bureaus.
The only way I realised this was the problem is after an attempt to get further credit failed.

Please check your credit record and make sure that you have no arrears, judgements or any negative reflections on it.

I understand some people have bad debt and this could not be avoided by their circumstances, but if you are responsible and repay your debt as I do then please make sure that you are not getting burned by anyone. Especially my own bank,

I check mine for free on the capitec app ,through it only gives you indication if it is good or bad etc . Does not tell you if you have judgements or anything like that.

By law you are entitled to one free credit check per year from each of the credit bureaus, and the odd R80 they charge for a full credit check with credit score isn't too much. Most people should look into getting the full report at least once a year.

I took the loan in December and repaid it as soon as there was money in my account the next pay date. This is how temp loans work. As soon as you get cash in your account the loan amount is automatically paid. They flagged me as a non payer. So either they, their systems or someone messed up. They gave me a paid up letter and I sent it on to get my name cleared.
