Ok, if the nasport stays the same throughout, it means that your account have not been 'compromised' per se. All usage are as sure heck coming from Your line and your line alone. You said your wireless is not enabled on your router so we rule that out as a suspect and move onto the 4 PCs in the network.

If I was you I'd install NetLimiter Monitor (free) on each of the 4 PCs. Just make sure that they run all the time and that the users on the network does not Kill the monitor as it can only log when it's running. Then after about a week/few days check the usage stats on each PC and compare that with the Telkom Tracker stats. Allow for some minor deviations.

Then kill the user that (ab)used the cap. Or install the NetLimiter 2 Pro (28 Day evaluation period) edition on said PC to monitor where the usage comes from.

If you happen to have an additional PC standing there not 'doing anything' + time, there are some other "fun" ways of doing all the above without installing anything on the networked PCs. There are some Linux distros that could monitor internet usage quite nicely if you are up to it...

But I'd only do all this if I had time and I knew it was normal usage, and not eg. some virus/malware eating my cap, and I wanted to catch the perpetrator. To check if it is malware, kill all the normal apps on the PCs that would be using the internet for any reason eg. Firefox/IE/Email checkers/M$ Windows updater/skype/etc etc and get everyone away from the PCs. Then look at your router. The usage light should be idle/non-changing/static:p. Allow for small inter-network usage every few minutes but not much more than that. If the usage light is till going crazy check from what PC it is coming from and unplug that cable to ensure it is the correct one. Get to work on said PC. Install NetLimiter 2 Pro to check where the usage is coming from and/or re-/install proper anti-virus&spyware software on that PC.

Hope that helps :)

Thanx i'll make a plan eh, will be interesting to see whats chowing my cap like this

Edit: I think i might have found a little culprit, although i'm not 100% sure, but i think its possible, is Skype, i've been noticing when i work on my pc the internet light goes crazy and i don't know why, and then i read this forum http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=127940&highlight=supernode and ja, i will still install netmonitor

Really appreciated Id13

okay so i changed my password to log into my router, now how do i change my Telkom IP password... i dont C a place on their website (secure.telkomsa.net)

I have the same problem. I have given up on finding a solution. I get capped every month without even dloading anything.

I have the super strong password, changed it hundreds of times. My line is line locked, so nobody is hacking me.

Iv spent hours on the line with telkom people they cannot give me an answer. I dont have any automatic updates or anything. Yet i still get capped.

Yea right. Downloading means browsing aswell btw... Follow the instructions. Install netlimiter to see where the "usage" is coming from then. Telkom won't be able to help you with that at all.

But browsing and getting capped off a 3gig account???

3GB cap... Give me a 4Mb line and a weekend, I'll kill it with pure browsing :D

No seriously man, install NetLimiter and let it run. It will show you exactly from where the usage is coming from.

Try disconnecting each one for a day and see if there is a significant difference in your usage...

how do i change my Password for my ADSL line? i see telkom doesnt have that option on their usage website anymore

ME as in me or ME as in Windows Millenium... if the later, I suggest you take the machine out onto the street and pepper it with bullets.

Skype has the functionality to show you call statistics. I cannot believe it uses that much - unless you are using video - a lot...

Me as in myself, don't touch windows ME either. I think skype was using me as a supernode,

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=127940&highlight=supernode

So i disabled skype too, although i never use skype but my traffic on the router has been lessened incredibly because i always used to notice the internet light flicking when i'm not using my pc, but it doesn't flick anymore

My eyes are hurting from even reading the words Windows M... aaa I cant say it.

Ah... a fellow Apple 'fanboy' ... Used to use Linux on the desktop since 2000. I am too old now to be hacking up wpa_supplicant and such like to do simple things. OSX has made my life much easier...

DUDE!! I SO want to become a super node... Then Skype will actually work decently in SA. Seeing as I do not really have to worry too much about usage... hmmm....

I think that Skype works excellently. I speak to friends in Europe, the US and even Mozambique almost weekly. Sometime I call a mate in the US and the call my other mate in Mozambique, set the call to conference and we all have a good chat.

When it comes to skype I have nothing to complain about.
