Getting Fibre installed, but not getting ISP connectivity

Hi folks

I'm using Rain LTE currently, and being an I-Burst Early.Connect client, I have a fantastic package. Early.Connect contract has now closed down and Rain has now transferred our accounts to Afrihost, but the current subs will remain the same on a month-2-month basis. Whilst they remain the same, I have no need for any other service.

My concern is that Afrihost could increase my current monthly subs at any time. If such is brought in line with current Rain LTE commercial offerings, it would then be in my best interests to swap over to fibre (both financially and for internet stability/speed).

So I was thinking of getting fibre installed (likely Vuma, but also have an option for Telkom), but not bothering with signing up with an ISP until such time as my Rain LTE no longer becomes a viable option. Is this possible? Anyone else done it?

I would appreciate the "brain-trust's" thoughts in this regard.

Shouldn't be a problem.

I had Vuma install their fibre whilst still negotiating with the ISPs.

I also kept my ADSL, and only cancelled once I was happy with the fibre product.

Wouldn't you still have to pay Vuma's fee every month?

Vuma would be a once off install fee. You pay the ISP monthly who in turn pay Vuma for the line usage.

In which case that is a stunning idea - well done LOTR. Wish I'd thought of it :D
