Giga 200 Questions

This is good to hear, always was a pain to hunt them down. Just hope you also split it up somehow so that it's easier on the cash flow. I would actually like to pay 6 months up front instead of 12.

Great idea. 25 gig day/75 gig night for R1200 :) that is acceptable :P

I was trying to hunt down GigaNite SIM CARDS in a small town cause CELL C coverage was working there without roaming on vodacom network but to my disappointment there is no CELL C store whatsoever! Did manage to find RedBull Mobile card at Shoprite only, 200 MEG went in a matter of days. Just for general whatapp without viewing websites

For some strange reason I can actually use my modem, I don't know if this has to do with me contacting DM (Cell C rep) some time last week (he is still to respond though) but things are much better, not smooth but there is progress. This hasn't changed my viewpoint, I am still taking my business away from Cell C unless a miracle in terms of network coverage and signal takes place.

I am only going to be tied to Cell C by the Giga 200 package until next year.

Only if the top brass of Cell C was as helpful as the reps here.

I escalated the query to a technician, and he confirmed that the problem is caused mainly by congestion. There are ongoing upgrades in the area. I will PM you the reference number, and will reopen the the call if the problem persist. *DM*

Thank you DM!!!

You guys are the most efficient and helpful of the reps on these boards, Armando was just as helpful.

It is indeed much better. I am at home for the next few weeks and since last Monday it has been usable, at times it is as good as I can get.

Glad to read that there is maintenance going on, I am really happy with Cell C's products but the network...

I am willing wait and to see what happens after this.

Thanks, once again.

I've learned that your best bet is a Game store, they seem be better connected with the mobile companies than the actual franchises.

Slight problem I did message the REP on this forum to see if he could track down a Giganite sim card for me but unfortunately no availability. No Game store in this small town (Only next year), instead of me driving 100 KM+ spending fuel and time tracking down a card. CELL C should start their own online store that accept credit cards etc, offer courier delivery!

Now I am back in Johannesburg did contact a CELL C franchise store they didn't have stock. Makro

I still say, they must provide much bigger "options" and packages.

25gig day/75gig night time... its not bad.

But why not offer other packages too for the higher end user that wants Prepaid 3G/HSDPA/LTE.

Maybe a 150day/300gig night prepaid for R2500 or 100gig day/200gig night time prepaid R2000 (Because you buying in bulk, effectively that should lower the price per gig).

Then while they at it, why not have other options... Pure 200gig or 300gig packages prepaid. Which is day/anytime data packages (for those who maybe don't download at night.. maybe only need daytime data. Maybe those ppl switch their machines off at night). *Just a Hint*.

Use it, don't use it. <- :)

Has anyone actually managed to buy a Giga200 sim anywhere in the past 2 months or so ??

I get the feeling the product has been discontinued but CellC isn't telling anyone, just hoping we'll give up trying to give them our money and go elsewhere ...

CellC rep ?? Any info would be appreciated

Giga200 sim cards should be available in most Cell C stores. The store should be able to order one for you if they are sold out. *DM*

If there is no CELL C store nearby(closest CELL C store is 200 KM away - Nelspruit). I would purchase online but haven't come across anyone that stock the sim card or alternatively add it to the USSD data bundle.

Does anybody know where I can purchase the SIM CARD in Johannesburg. I have been to several CELL C stores and nobody has stock :( Wish TakeAlot/DionWired would sell them online :(

Just got off the phone with someone at Game. It looks like the giga200 is eol. In other wotds finding stock just became a lot harder.

Not worth getting speeds can't download files with mine complained to cellc no response

I bought the Giga 200 package from the CellC store in Centurion Mall today (01-08-2014). They do have more in stock.

My speeds with CellC isn't bad, I get between 2Mbps and 5Mbps. Which is enough for me.

I got mine from Welkom, the listed stores in CellC Bloemfontein also have them. The best approach seems to be just to email the the listed stores.
Makro Vaal also have it.

Looks like there's enough leftovers.
As for performance, as always location location location. Before investing in a network it might be a good idea to get something like the R50 Red bull package.

Yes. There has been a demand for this and it will soon be a reality. *DM*

When will this be made a reality? I currently have the Giga200 package. I'd like to either extend it or top up with one of the giga night packages when my data is up without having to purchase a new SIM card.

They have done their homework we won't be seeing this anytime available on the USSD structure. OOB shark loves to play. Imagine all cell c prepaid subscribers topping up no shark will come out to play.

Purchasing a new card on Monday, hopefully the store does have stock.
