I bought a Giga200 today, which I put into a B315 router.. The sales lady told me I will be able to force it to roam on Voda as the area I'm in CellC only have 2g Signal. The speed is absolute crap. Even WhatsApp takes forever... When I set it to roam it says connecting not allowed? She told me that she gave me a normal SIM card, onto which she loaded the 200gigs and not the Giga sim...

Not sure of your location, but when I used Cell C, I could roam in Brackenfell and Bellville, however in the Cape Town CBD, it wouldn't allow me to roam. Looks like the area you're in doesn't have an agreement with Voda. Can you roam in other suburbs?

Sales consultant wanted to make a sale out of a gullible consumer. Take it back where you bought it and demand for a full refund on cell c website it clearly states that this product won't roam on vodacom network

All qualifying data usage (on the Cell C Network ONLY) will be deducted from the 200GB balance until it has been fully depleted OR the expiry date is reached (whichever should come first).
Maybe in some areas you can roam Vodacom using normal SIM card with Giga 200 loaded. But don't depend on it.
Two days ago I walked to the shop with my old Giga 200 SIM card, asking to load a new Giga 100 (all day) package, they told me they have a starter pack for a reduced price R899. Maybe Cell C is aware of the problem, it is why they give 10% discount for the SIM which has disabled roaming cmpletely. I don't know, and don't care, using this card in the area of good Cell C LTE cverage.

Nowadays, they load onto an existing sim if you already have one.

I would like to get something like this for my parents, do I have to go into the shop with the sim, or can I only give the number? My parents live in another province so getting the sim from them will be a problem.
Just the number will do. The store can load the airtime to any CellC number and it will just add on the 200 gigs.
You will find that when you are in a area where the Vodacom Tower is congested, they will block out all roaming from Cell-C.
That is in my case.
I phoned vodacom and they said that the tower in my area is congested and due to that they will not allow you to roam from Cell-C on their tower. This is ongoing for many years.
