One gripe I have with these sim cards is that they expire. Last time I was using the 60GB like a regular sim card which should work and it just went dead. I don't know if this is still an issue.

When CELL C launched their woosh service with sin cards preloaded with data .. The SIM card would only expire in 2020 . The data is only valid for a year and if you don't use the data you forfeit it. Cell C are cheaper than Telkom Mobile. Would be nice if they could split it 100 gig / 1join gig.

noticed as from today cell c fixed their accounting system,before you had to reconnect to make use of giga nite data.

Then why did my sim expire? My data was finished and I loaded a bundle then it just died.

This was about two years ago and I'm not using the sim any more. Was just intrigued why it was cut off and if it still works the same way.

Now that you brought this up what cell c can do is create a unique voucher for Giga200 and partner with takealot to move them or alternatively you could have purchased cell c airtime from takealot to the value of R1800 If you not lazy to enter all the voucher PIN.

I just spend 5 minutes trying to figure out how to buy aitime from takealot and still haven't entirely figured it out.
So it's pretty ineffective atm.

But I like the idea of voucher packages. That way you won't need to even wait for shipping or even need to visit a "specialized shop"

Maybe we need an alternative currency to "airtime".
Lets call it cCoins

cCoins would be purely used for buying packages. Won't have supacharge or be used for calling.
Think they would be able to offer better packages without have to take into account the benefits in their calculations. No having to worry about accidentally using up the airtime and having the incorrect balance.

You purchase these cCoins va EFT or Credit card and you just select the package you want, on any prepaid sim you want and you get to keep the existing airtime.

its very simple cell c should make a specific package for giganite whereby you forfeit all benefits and higher call rates. Problem solved
