Gigabyte B250m-d3h SSD support?

I'm thinking of buying a WD Green 240GB SSD for my pc. I checked the specs of the motherboard and that SSD isn't on the support list.

Will it work in my pc? What are the chances that it doesn't work?

Absolutely, 100% it will work. Pretty much any computer with a SATA port will support an SSD. The WD Greens aren't the fastest SSD's out there, but they're very reliable and offer a very decent performance boost over standard hard drives.

I'm a huge fan of the WD SSD drives and the value they offer, but if you can afford to spend a bit more, maybe consider a WD Blue SSD.

Some cheaper drives lack dram cache which I would avoid.

What's your budget?


You can go m.2 sata or nvme (M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 SATA and PCIe x4/x2 SSD support) or just plain sata.

At the moment I am on a low budget, but I just want a SSD to get my PC running faster. In future I will consider M.2 and maybe even NVMe.

In that case just get the WD Green from Takealot for R599 & free shipping, it's still gonna be a crapload faster than a spinner. If you don't mess with large files all the time you probably won't notice the lack of cache.
