Girlfriend pregnant while using the injection contraceptive method

Hi,
I'm 22yrs and my girlfriend is 19. She is using the injection prevention method and had her period for almost a month so yesterday I took her to the doc to get it checked out... The doc said it's because her system is not used to this prevention method then did the tests.

The doc revealed that she's pregnant. we were both shocked and couldn't even ask a single question. .

What are the effects cos she took the injection for the 2nd time being pregnant(without realising)?
What are the other things that we should focus on more on the health side?

OP, have you considered asking the doctor this question? Or did he give you an answer and you are hoping we'll give a different one?

If that's the case he needs to get back to the doctor and ask those questions. Actually - whatever the case is - he needs to go with his girlfriend back to the doctor and get these questions answered so that informed decisions can be made. This really isn't one of those things you turn to google for.
