Gizzu ups issue

My new Gizzu 17600maH backup battery shows 25% flashing and then keeps switching off. Nothing is plugged into it yet.
Is it faulty? Or should I wait a bit ?
Status light is red.
Can it charge up just by being plugged in? Or must it be ON ?

It can be charged just by being plugged in. It might just be turning off because no load is detected. Have you left it on charge for a few hours?

I have nothing plugged in at the moment. Does something have to be plugged in for it to work? I left it plugged in for 5 hrs and the 25% still flashes.

Can you show us a picture of what is plugged in and the status lights? If it is plugged into the wall socket, it should be charging (normally indicated by the state of charge light flashing).

I had exactly the same problem with one purchased on takealot 2 weeks ago, basically not charging . I logged a return and they collected and sent me a working one a week later.

Not likely, but resellers might.

I could. I have my iPad plugged in to the UPS atm. With just the power plugged in, the UPS stays on quite long with the 25% light flashing. As soon as I plug in the iPad to the usb port, the UPS switches off.
Takealot replacing it on Wednesday. Think it’s a dud.
