Parallel 2x router UPS

Thanks for the advice guys but I'd rather not build a workshop to diagnose one mini-UPS 😁. When it does become unusable maybe I'll tinker a bit. I was actually looking at buying a multimeter the other day but then again I don't tinker with electronics much and maybe it's safer that way.

Nope. You don’t neee to own a 3D printer lol. Use FreeCad that is free. Build your thing and get a company to print it for you. I did most of my hobby projects like that back in the day before I bought one.

The original case is limiting. Build once, use a holder for the cells and you will have the UPS for life. No soldering between the cells needed.
I'd rather just buy a new one for R300.

R258 and you get 4 x 18650 2200mAh cells

These prices have really dropped.

You are right.

But there is merit to upgrading the batteries or going through the trouble. I see 4 18650 batteries 5800mah for 215. Cavedog is right also, cheaper than the prices he saw.

22000mah ups is 700 rand.

I guess it’s a case of do you have the time to play with the stuff. For most no.

I would find one that has LFP cells for longer service life.
