I'm just going with this instead.

You just posted a devops chart created from Glass door stats (which is hardly used by anyone outside US) and forget to mention that the article says that "java is still the prom queen".

Where their statistics fail is to rely on measuring jobs available rather than looking at how many people possess a certain skill set.

I know, I just liked the orange comment as it's just as relevant.
All depends on location, demand and your skills (not just "Java"), so I see no point past a quick gauge the interest/salary speculation.

Like my european friend who has now been on a 3 year contract earning top money in Samoa as one of the few Cobol, Assembler, MS Access and VB6 developers in Pago Pago - I am certain he works on something illegal or classified as his setup looks sick and the money he pulls is borderline obscene (never mind working on a tiny island).
