Gmail account disabled

And that is relevant to my question how exactly?

Its relevant, so that next time you don't get burned this way again. If you have essential emails, either back em up constantly, have someone CC you everything into a second account or keep 'em on a paid account.

It's a good lesson to be learned.

Dude this like when people say "Can someone help me fix XYZ with my Windows" and people respond punting Linux etc.

I hear what you're saying but it doesn't change the fact that I have a problem and that response doesn't help.

Thanks anyways ;)

Yes you do. I don't know how to get Google to respond.
You could try to find the Investor Contact Form at Google.com
and put your issue there. They tend to respond on that, one.
Say you're at your wits end. Say its the girls' college papers.
Say you tried everything else.

Investor contact form.... that can work.

maybe you broke some rules?
Then they banned you?

Google's SPAM detection systems are obviously automated. But sometimes they make a mistake and shut down an account for 24 hours because they think someone was abusing the account. There is no rhyme or reason to what actually triggers it. It just happens. As I said it has happened to me and my wife in the last three years. Actually, it also happened to my secretary now that I think about it. The account re-activates after the 24 hour cool-off period.

I still love my Google. I do have a backup plan, but its probably not necessary.

The account is brand spanking new... Just 2/3 weeks old. My niece hadn't sent a single email from it yet.

And with her general knowledge, I'd say it is impossible that she was sending out spam. Unless someone got into her account

You don't actually have to send out any spam for the automated detection system to flag your account. It is just a glitch in the matrix.

Thing is it's been way over 24 hours that we can't access it. Not sure when the last time was that she managed to actually get in there

Google would only disable an account for non-activity after six months. If the system has not reset itself after the 24 hour cool down period then her account must have been shut down for some or other TOS violation.

Which has taught everyone a valuable lesson. If you value your email, as you value your postal mail or telephone conversations, you won't rely on a FREE email service. If you can afford the $25 per annum, get a paid service rather.
