a friend got a new android and forgot the google password. Google password recovery did not work. She got a laptop and a desktop, using chrome and chrome remember the password as she can open g mail. I ask chrome the show the password and got it, but on another computer g mail does not want that password. The email address is important and she needs to log in or change the password. Can you help me please.

Try again.
If a password works in one place it will work in another place.
Check CAPS LOCK etc.

It is obviously the wrong password. She forgot it. She best chance is to get a hold of Google. Does she have a recovery email add.

We type it surely. Google only offer a sms code, I am afraid no recovery email.

And, how does it open in chrome on her computer. She is sure the chrome password is a old one.

Then it would not open and show new mails received...

Chrome automatically keeps you logged if you didn't use incognito mode. If she doesn't have a recovery email then she is screwed. Does she have 2 factor authentication? That might help.

Do it and let her suffer the consequences. If you don't use a password manager by now then it's a sad loss.

Step 1: Go here: https://support.google.com/account...-3259598866&p=ar_other_problems_username&rd=1

Step 2: Click the dot that says " You can't reset your password with a code by text. "

Step 3: Follow those instuctions, they will ask you things like when you made the account, past passwords you used and people you've emailed(The account creation date doesn't have to be on the dot correct, just an estimate is fine)

Note: If the info you provided matches up,google will respond within a day or two with a password reset link to an email you will provide in the above steps.
Since it's the holidays it might take longer.

Note 2: Some questions will be a bit troublesome to answer, just do your best to fill out as much as you can.

Goodluck and hope you get it working :)

If google only offers an sms code, then the friend should still have access to the number that was used...

They do send a sms to her, she enters the code , then it ask for a email to send the code, but would not take her email. I give mine, get the code, and enter it, then google recovery says sorry.
