These people are very cheap. R228 for a 5GB cap, R399 for a 10GB cap... Only R648 for a 20GB cap.

These are same guys managing the broadband-over-power-lines thing, right?

They look very cheap. And they're SAIX, apparently, which is a good thing.

They're supposed to be launching their ADSL services on the 1st of August.

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about them?

I need a reply about the speeds after cap

Surely we will only know what is happening after August when they go online. Seems a bit early to be asking questions about cap and speeds once softcapped

If they're SAIX, how are they able to off R45.6 per gig for the 5 gigs?

Well that's it ... I'm moving my account from SAOL to these guy's ... I'll let you all know how the service and performance is.

yeah, only problem is the 24 months contract on the 15 and 20 GB packages

I wonder what speeds one will get after the Original cap?? Maybe 64K like iburst ?? Even that would be oraait..

but i'm thinking they will propably limit your bandwidth to 1-3kb per second..

Yeah, it's probably "speed limiting" like Telkom used to do back in the day. Slower than dial-up. 64kbps would be frikken awesome. :p

The 64kb on Iburst is awesome man, enough to live off easily. Thats why many people on iburst only go for 1 gig and then use the uncapped service.

If they offer that Id love to change to them.. too bad its only in Pretoria for now.

I didnt know these guys were going to offer a ISP service too. I wonder if it will continue to do this even after they launch their own product. I mean it is making htier competition more affordable, as they seem to currently be offering the best SAIX price around. Even a great price if they use IS right?

Does it say on thier website that they use SAIX?

This is their ADSL we're talking about... It'll be everywhere. Who knows what capping will be like on BPL.

Yeah, in the FAQ somewhere.

Oh, I didnt know they could offer a softcap if they were using SAIX. I thought SAIX made the rules?

Well I have no idea how they can offer prices like that then. I mean are they just anticipating a big uptake of their service and therefore they are lowering prices? It cant be, they must have some sort of an agreement with SAIX for bandwidth as part of the BPL service. And now they are using this for a ADSL ISP too, or something.

Well thier own broadband service must be a good bit cheaper than this, seeing as they can provide this for ADSL. And they wouldnt give a better or even near price for a rival service.

Any news ??? About the speed after the cap has been reached ?? aka Softcap ??

If someone from GTS would reply, we would know the speeds, but until that happens, we wait for the launch in Aug

GTS replied to my emails -
Answer : Once the soft cap is reached the speed will reduce to 56kbps but this is dependant on the traffic on the network at the time.

Also they allow a softcap of 20gig afterwards(at slow speed) on a 10gig cap..

That is not bad at all. Roll on August then....
