Goal Technology Solutions

I emailed these guys and asked them when I would be able to sign up and the reply was that they will be up and running 1 September. Very odd.

These people are very cheap. R228 for a 5GB cap, R399 for a 10GB cap... Only R648 for a 20GB cap.

These are same guys managing the broadband-over-power-lines thing, right?

They look very cheap. And they're SAIX, apparently, which is a good thing.

They're supposed to be launching their ADSL services on the 1st of August.

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about them?

All this would be great and i'm looking forward to it! :) But where do you find this information, been trying to find some info but it's not on their website! :confused:

GTS are you now only starting your ADSL service 1 September?
 
1 Sept...that sucks....I really won't mind a cheaper ISP for 10 gigs. I miss the 30 gig days!!!

It's on their site - buried somewhere in the FAQ.

They don't have such a great website, unfortunately.

I tried emailing them, but got a bounce from their parent company mail domain: telecel.co.za.

I'm going to give them a call in the morning, otherwise I'll have to sign up with another ISP in the meantime, since I gave my 30 day notice to SAOL.com already.
 
Hopefully the big "T" hasn't got involved in this and tried to put an end to these v.good ISP prices (in SA terms of course).

Well it is 1 Aug and still nothing from www.goal.co.za, their website FAQ's still says they are launching their ADSL ISP service on 1 Aug. This does not bode well for them at all. Anybody have any news?

@MrSmith: I phoned them up and they said they'll only be launching their ADSL ISP service from 1st Sept.

It would be nice if they at least updated their website or posted on the forum.
 
hmmm...nearing the end of the month - nothing new on their website as far as signing up. Anybody hear anything from these folks?
 
GTS launch is "imminent". GTS are you guys still on track for 1 September? Care to comment?
 
Just an update on the launch date:

I phoned the folks at GTS and they've put off the launch date again to October 1st. According to the guy I spoke to (Warren) they had some issues with ADSL accounts that they're sorting out.

Oh well, will have to "sign up" again with my current provider and give them notice again, lol! Eish. :D
 
GTS should really make a statement on all of this as I think it would really be appreciated by their potential customers.
Their silence really sends the wrong message and does not inspire much confidence.
 
I also think more people will be hesitant to sign up first to see what reaction there is from those that do sign up as the current situation seems a bit dodgy. Only thing that they should do is to communicate to the potential customers. As time goes by they look more and more if Telkom will kick their asses when it comes to service
