Golf 4 Dash Rattles

JD power survey, I think you should put that one to rest as you are the only one who actually believes it. Rather talk to the people driving the cars. Polo / Opel doesn't matter - If you love you car and enjoy it then good for you BUT please stop with your annoying comments where VW is mentioned. Yes we all know you bought a Opel, woop di fooking doo for you.

Sure, surveys and awards only goes so far as the paper they are printed on in magazines and what not. They are no biggie as you correctly point out. Also true is that people tend to make a choice that will make them happy, so if you decide to buy Brand-X of a product then you will most likely have done so because you like Brand-X and therefore it will make you happy.

What I myself am on about is people that use sheep mentality when buying cars, people who lack the confidence to be different, people who laugh at others purely because they bought something else. This is true for most VW buyers, they buy a car cause everyone else has it and they think its good quality. They do not stand out from the crowd because lets be honest, if a car is an extension of the drivers personality then what does a VW say about you? I am one of many? I love Hitler? I think I am cheap but good quality? I do not have a personality? Then to go about and pretend it is a better car than other brands is just living up to the over-hyped, over-priced and over-inflated ego mentality of the brand.

So then, to your request to just drop it and stop telling everyone about how awesome Opel or some other brand is. No. I am afraid I have had more than enough of the VW uber als mentality and I also have more than enough time, talent and trollability to go on and on and then some more about alternatives, and my personal favorite Opel who, as far as useless surveys goes, is the better choice.

Grab some more popcorn because I am so far from letting this one slide its not even funny ;)

And the tap carries on dripping!

Paul, when are you actually look at yourself in this particular very tired subject? You are EVERYTHING that you bitch about VW owners. YOU are the one pointing fingers here, and it is just plain boring.

People will carry on buying more VW's than Opels because that's just the way it is. Get over it already!

Uhm you know Opel is german as well? I think be very careful about your comments here referring to Hitler lovers etc.

Look lets be honest here, you are a anti-VW fanboy. Very happy for you, really I am cause nothing like being proud of what you own. But you irritate people here with your snotty remarks at VW owners where you can. Do you have script running or something that gives you a reminder as soon as a post is made on Mybb with VW in it?

What are you trying to achieve? That people think before they buy a VW and not follow 25% (made up figure) of South Africa who already own one. Well then you might as well be Zuma with South Africa, not gonna change anything about it...

If I buy a polo, drive it for 5 years without problems and love the ride. Chances are when the new polo comes out that I will be blind in buying one cause I already know they joys the car and make (VW) gives me. Dont see anything wrong that.

I recently bought myself a new car, tested the Opel, wasn't for me but doesn't mean other people will feel the same. 1 out of 10 people take the opel after the test drive, 9/10 people take the POLO.

That's life, get over yourself.

I don't think anyone actually takes your opinions seriously anymore. We're used to your "trolling" posts. So, you might not let it slide, but everyone else will. ;)

Get over yourself.

Look, Chris, you might have had a good experience and that great for you, all I am saying is that neither your nor my experience alone is something yo go by. That is why they have surveys like the one I pointed out.

While I do try to tell the mainstreamers that they really could have done better it is not something I am hung up about. However I have been given so much crap in the past when I merely mentioned an alternative (not trolling) that I now just go straight to trolling off the bat. Having a stick in the form a survey does help a little, and I am not planning to ditch it any time soon.

Genetic does offer some pretty sound advice though, just pull an ignore. I mean you already ignored so many great alternatives when buying your car it should be no problem to ignore a mere idiot such as myself.

VW interiors are freaken boring - omg. Have a look at the new Astra...at least Opel is moving forward.

Just sayin...

OMG Mr Roux is going to wet himself when he sees that he has a follower.

Maybe you two should get together and have a group hug....

Chris, trying to reason with people like Roux and markface just isn't worth the effort. They have total tunnel vision in this respect. Best to simply ignore their bollocks!

Markface, the two pictures I showed was base models. So no GPS and other extras. Maybe compare them on that PAR setting as you suggested because thats the models that most people will buy

Worst comparison pictures ever, really lame way to get a point across. A point which is null and void anyway as you are comparing two completely different segment vehicles.

We're debating Roux's lack of judgment and trolling any thread that contains a Audi or VW, whether it's better or not.

Exactly. A much fairer comparison would be Astra vs. Golf, and Corsa vs. Polo. I actually prefer the VW interiors, since they just look much less cluttered.

Actually, there are many people that prefer something less boring and conservative - and there are quite a few people here that like Opel I might add.
Mercedes has more exciting designs than VAG both in and out which says a lot for a car that traditionally aims to please the older car buyers.
And really, it does not have to be VS Opel always, there are some awesome Korean cars that are miles ahead of VAGs, yes, including Audis.

About the new Astra VS the Golf (or Focus for that matter) please don't take my word for it when I say it looks much better in and out : http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...n-the-likes-of-the-Focus-or-Golf-quot-Whatcar

I have been at this for a long time now so I suppose you can call me a seasoned professional. For every pro-VAG reason I probably have three reasons to forget VAG.

I have one good reason for you to forget VAG - the company hasn't been called that since 1992. Now known as Volkswagen AG.
