It astounds when poeple say I will never buy a VW because they are overpriced and the brand and ride doesn't appeal to them, and then in the next sentence they say Audi is amazing etc. Why do you have to compare a Astra to a polo? Whats the point of that exercise? Lets compare a veyron to a Porche carerra, really dumb comparison.

Anyways quite enjoying this as the trolling just shows how little you know.

Yeah fair enough...just checked the prices now. Astra vs Golf is a much fairer comparison, and i'm not sure which one I prefer, doh!

Poor sentence structure FTL, I think he meant that Korean cars are miles ahead of VAG cars, even Audis.

I would just laughed this off but that is the second time you call me ignorant while it is clearly you that know very little about these companies. Allow me to go off topic a bit and educate you, son.

VAG (or Volkswagen AG) owns Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Skoda, Bugatti, Bentley and Scania. The company was the brain child of Adolf Hitler who ask Ferdinand Porsche to built a cheap car for the German people. The Nazi party heavily funded the development of VW and even today it is common knowledge that there is one set of corporate law for all corporation in Germany, and another set of VW. How else do you think they got away with spending millions on expensive trips to Brazil and lots of hookers and drugs? (all true, I am not making any of this up).

For a comparison Mercedes was the result of absolute pioneering work by Karl Benz, Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach. These were people that wanted to make cars because it was a passion they had, not because the anti-christ asked them to do so.

Now seeing as you are so confident of your knowledge of car history and particularly German cars, it may come as a shock to you that Opel is the oldest company in Germany that makes cars. Adam Opel started making sewing machines in 1862 and it was a very successful business. Opel's sons got the company started on bicycles and eventually it moved on to cars. All of his sons were excellent cyclist and racing drivers so it really is a company with heritage and pride for what it does.

As I said before, I have been over all aspects of VAGdom and related subjects, I don't take kindly to people that call me stupid on that subject.

Like I said in my first post, I am not here to tell you that VW is better than opel but to give my opinion. The thread got derailed from there in how Astra is better than Polo and how it looks better etc. Cheap shot that did not work out for him.

You opinion and post are both speculative and amusing at the same time. Talking about drugs in Brazil when we are talking about VW and Opel. See what I mean?

VW also makes great cars if boring or nazi, expensive, or unreliable to some
Both of these manufactures in reality make cars above average in quality of finishes, perceived quality handling and in some cases above average reliability as well.

WTF are you guys on about, its not like you're talking about Geely or TATA and the likes who still have to prove themselfs, These germans have proved themselfs time and time again theres nothing to debate guys seriously.

I would take a Corsa above a POLO anyday. I'd take a Scirocco above anything Opel anyday. I'd take a entry level Astra above entry level Golf(extras too expensive)

Its all bloody subjective come on!!

I suspect some of them are only getting into these debates because they like saying VAG.
 
As for the rattling dash... I would not strip and resemble. You might just end up with more rattles than a Baby city sale.
 
Vegata agree with your post but think you missed the point of the whole discussion. If someone praises anything with VW in it like a scirocco then roux comes out of the blue and slashes it with all might.

I agree that some models are better than other.

All I am asking like you say is to be subjective or keep quiet.
