Golf 6 GTI-R

Good idea, I mean heaven forbid anyone should debate the topic at hand, oh no - that would just be silly now won't it. Refute some points or come up with a counter argument, nah that's for noobs hey?

Well, as enigma243 said, its sad that performance models, especially the naturally aspirated ones, are becoming more scarce when new models are released. But I guess thats just progress for you as engines needs to become more efficient. That is why I said it would be a real shame if the legacy of the brilliant VR6 will become... well... a legacy?

Anyways, looks wise I'm sticking with it looking bland and boring from every angle, it it would be tough to argue against that because really, look at the Alfa, or even a Megane - much more appealing and modern. The only thing the Golf will have going for it is the fact that its popular, or as I think I can rightfully say, overrated.

Understated ≠ bland. The Golf has an air of confidence about it. Most of the others, especially the Focus and Megane, look like they're trying just that little bit too hard.

The R32 is 32 x better than the VR6! Why you harping on the VR6?

I had a R32 to drive the whole of Saturday, the most awesomest car ever! And to think you can slap the HGP conversion on thatn I dream of it everyday since.

True, understated does not mean bland and there are some pretty nice detail on the GTI. But many buyers will simply opt for something more flash because for most spending that much means you want a little something to show it cost that much. I guess the Focus is bling king then but even if you are stuck in camp VAG you can make a much bigger impression with at Sirocco or even A3/S3. But yeah, I guess the understated looks of the R is what appeals to some.

Slightly off topic, but that is what I meant with a worthy debate. I may be a fanboi and sometimes tackle things with a trollish approach, but I rarely do blunt force "trollma". For me it is more annoying to have a bunch of cry [-]wolf[/-] troll boys than an actual troll. I also feel that many times people just use cry troll because they are unable to come up with a worthy counter argument. And that is weak actually.

Or we're just sick of your constant attempts at derailing VW threads, all of them - have you noticed its more than one person who's sick of your pathetic crap?

Dude, this is so off topic but I'm hoping you'll come round and see the light.

You also claimed at some stage that I was detailing the Mweb thread, and I think it was established that if I wanted to derail it I would use a lost less facts and a lot more punches. You also then tried to form an angry mob chanting "whar whar whar derailer whar whar". So maybe watch that you don't become a troll yourself.

Oh, and if at all possible, try to focus on the motor related stuff I wrote in my last post and not the "lay off being lame" part, unless of course the shoe fits...

**yawn**

Same  different thread.

I see our resident troll has hijacked another thread.

Can't say I'm surprised.

Unfortunately it always seems to be the same sh*t in most threads.

Strange how its always more than one person against you, and you can see this in just about every thread you and your crap come along in.... same as the MWEB thread....

The only lame thing are your constant attempts at detailing. ... we all get you don't like VW, move on.

Start your own thread to discuss your distaste in cars.

are we not to blame for consistently falling for the bait, though?

+1
The Golf 5 GTI is a perfect example of this.

Exactly... kinda difficult to ignore when every VW thread gets spammed with Opel pictures and the same bile over and over.

Saw it at the Top Gear show. Looked ok in white.
Was a standard model, none of the options selected.

Shows how clueless you really are - I can't stand VW, they're right up there with pathetic forum trolls.
