Golf 6 GTI-R

They will be roughly cheaper than the s3 sportback..
without extras etc..
 
Yeah it does..

And I'd take the Scirocco over the Golf 6 any day of the week.. but not at the prices VW will ask for them...
 
Suspect VW will charge R450K base for the Golf. And ppl will still buy it. Go figure.
 
well, I'm only guessing, but I think VW will pip the Golf 6-R at R400k....

Thing is, golfs are golfs. They have an amazing fan support, and VW is renowned for reliability... Also, the cars are very good looking...
 
Looks nice esp in those wheels and colour. I still feel the scirroco should have been G6...but you can see how the scirroco looks 50 times better! It has pressence on the road, even a mundane one
 
R400k for a boring 4 cylinder? No thanks. The previous G5 R at least had a VR6 motor. Now it will sound like every brakpan corsa on the road.

I agree.
Alot of owners of the V6 Golfs and A3s eally believe those cars are far better than Mercs and BMs especially the DSG. I think so to, a Quattro/4Motion 3.2 smooth V6 with a DSG gearbox must be heaven to drive, even if its over R400k.

4 Cylinder models not so, very boy racer.

Strange though how the 2.0 on the R will we faster than the R32 and more fuel efficient. 0_O

Not really stange... Its a VW:D
I think they might drop the new R36 engine in a golf, they have to have a big engine Golf, its tradition!!
 
I'd rather buy BMW or Mercedes for that price thanks.

buddy dont underestimate 2l engines i mean the bmw 2 litre turbodiesel (1 series)produces some serious torque
also power to weight ratios must be considered

Alot of people would.
I bet the big engine hatchbacks from Audi and VW give a better overall drive than a 325 or C240!
