The motorplan on my 2014 Golf 7 expires in March 2017. VW charge R11 000 to extend it for another 2 years plus R1 300 to check the car.

Insurance is R800 pm, add the motorplan and the car is costing R1 250 pm before petrol etc.

Would you extend it or not?

It's had no problems apart from a rattle in the passenger door which the little sh$t mechanic said he didn't have to time to look for when the car went in for annual service :(

Then in my book I would pay it. It does not seem to unreasonable. You have that piece of mind. It's a quality car & 10yrs+ of use should be more than possible.

Thank you very much FiestaST. I was hoping you'd reply to this thread.

Visiting VW tomorrow to extend.

While you there & have some time maybe tease the sales bloke & telling him you are looking at upgrading to the MY2017 R in a few months time. How much will it be with all the options ticked...lol

VW Golf's have a 5 year 60 000km automotion maintenance plan. The warranty is 3 years so that is probably what is expiring.

when did it change to 5yr 60 000km... last i remember it was 5yr 90 000km:confused:

What's the mileage now?

I bought a VW Golf 5 outside of motorplan at 95000km and I didn't spend 11k on it in the first two years. Nowhere near that in fact even with changing the front suspension.

Just stop taking it to the dealership and I see no need to extend the plan.

*****

Lol I see it's less than 30k on the clock. Not a **** would I extend anything for such low mileage.

Look at after market warranty/motor plan, should work out cheaper. In the region of R300 a month.

I have used this product and I can say its a good to have. I have had multiple items replaced including wipers and brakes and a Xenon bulb without paying anything out of pocket.
