Your gear changes at the top revs and the speed it changes. Mine seems to lag heavily and VW reckon its normal to compensate blah blah... changing at 4 as eg it does it fast, but if i let it redline and change alone it is slooow even if i do it at 5, 6k..

The gears can be reset using a VAG Com.
I know my 07 GTI changed gears like a dream. It could read my mind.:D
My 08 has not yet adapted to my driving style.:(

So you reckon if i drive in auto at times and chilled in traffic, it could be affecting it? Do you drive in sport/paddle all the time?

Its going for a service this week, perhaps VW can do something?

Ye looked hot, I chased him down, hoping he take the same off ramp, but he turned, would have been a cool race for me(just to see).

It adapts to your driving style.
I drive more in "D".
It turns into a beast in "S" or "PS" mode.;)

Send it to Morne @ Hatfield in Brynstan. He knows his stuff.
I can reset it for you if you want.

I have it booked in at 4ways for tomorrow. I am going to ask them to load the stock software and reset the the gears and see how it FEELS from there. Then reload my software and see if it is the cause. If so, I will have to find some new software - what software / mods r u running in your DSG?
 
what is the cost of Dimsport?
Afaik its a very strong map.

Morne is at the hatfield Branch in Bryanston AFAIK,
VW Fourways are a useless bunch..
Will never take my car there again.

I didnt pay for it, I was running Upsolute and they now doing Dimsport and loaded it as a trial. But if i change it will be R4K. But for now its going back to stock after this service hopefully to see if it solves my gear change issue. Once that is right I will start with EVOMS induction, D/P (Still deciding on make) and software (also still deciding).
What D/P u got? Does a D/P remove the Cats?

Any advice from ur experience will be appreciated
 
So its official, my Gearbox is poked! And the root cause of all my problems... Lets see what VW can do to fix it... New Box perhaps?

I have the ATP D/P. Yes it does remove the cat.
