Damn I havent been around for a while.
I had an ATP down pipe in my 07 GTI. The sound was awesome and there was definitely an increase in power. I'll be fitting it to my 08 GTI soon. Then Im going to chip it and maybe do the intake.
Where did u have it done? And what effect does it have on warranty? Im keen to do it but nervous....
Cars are compaired to the GTI because its the oldest hot hatch label. And because its a GREAT car! I'm not saying its not it is an amazing ride.Damn I havent been around for a while.
@ Mazda boy the GTI IS the benchmark!! Show me one motoring article where a new hatch is released and its not compared to the GTI.
@Upsolute boys, please give me some feedback on the map. I've only had FRC in my MKIV and the performance and after sales service was amazing. I know a few guys with Revo and they are more than happy with performance.
The most power from an FRC GTI V at the VW dyno day was 178KW atw.
What kind of power are you guys making? Whats other mods do you have?

I'm just saying 191KW 380Nm with a limited slip differential NO MODS AT ALL on the 3MPS! Handles like a dream, for R260k new and they lose their value much quicker than VW so you can pickup a cheapie 2nd hand.
Its a great buy and bang for your buck isnt that what hot hatches are all about? VW has moved away from this simple concept they still had it right on the GTI3 & before. They're moving into Audi(luxury hot hatch) territory. Can they still be considered the benchmark? IMO not anymore not with the Ford ST(Price!, power, handling!), I actually consider that the benchmark.
That is amaziing, and will kill a GTi ( even a modded GTi ).
I cant understand the mentality of VW, the GTi can produce amazing power yet the dont fit a LSD, f'kin idiots. The car begs for the LSD *sigh*

to say the least..... im not sure if its the software though, perhaps the DV or even filter could e causing the issue. So by process of elimination, I will run the car without software and see if it goes into limp mode again.It is now that I realise the difference software makes - what a difference.
@JK8 you think thats wierd? You should see them parked side by side. They look exactly the same.
@Catch21. He has a full Stingray exhaust and Forge intake.
Why did you buy 2? For the upgraded turbo? I take it that its the same colour.

Upsolute is not a very common software for MKV owners, do some international research and see how they find this software.
AFAIK, Revo,GIAC & APR are the most common chips used (worldwide) on a MKV with little to no issues at all.

for the record the MPS only makes 138kw atw which is the same or less than some stock BWA GTI's

Do you have a high res pic of that Gti in the tunnel with the lights on?
MJP will probably smoke your MPS with the one of the best looking (and quickest) GTI's in the country. I had a close look at the MPS on Tuesday and hated everything about it. Jap crap FTL

I can give you a link to dyno sheets where very slightly moddel mps get more than 200kw atw!
