Good and Cheap Power Supply

I think ive narrowed my problem down to my psu

anyone know of a good value for money psu

I have a radeon 4870 so i think i need a 550W psu

Are gigabyte psu's reliable? Because i have one now and its giving me problems..

But maybe thats cuz it is only a 460W

Gigabyte Odin 585w is slightly cheaper than the CM EP 550w.

But do use that PSU calculator to check how much juice it says you need.

433W, thats what the calculator is saying.

My room is hot and I think quite a bit of power is lost to heat.

Hang on, is thread related to the one about only boot into safe mode?? If so then I don't think its the PSU. All things being equal, the temperature of your room should not effect the PSU power to any significant amount....

Never heard something like that. But how hot is hot? Room's ambient temperature?

Google SIW and use it to check PC temps ('Sensors' tab). Post results.

Yes it is related to that thread.. The reason I thought it was my psu was because my gpu seemed to be stressed.

Well firstly that psu you're running isn't 460watt. The cheap gigabyte psus get rated for peak, not continuous. It's actually 390watt. Check the sticker.

Get either the cooler master 460watt or gigabyte 585watt. Only actually runs at about 500watts but should be fine.
