Niehaus tenders resignation

The ANC denied that its spokesman Carl Niehaus had tendered his resignation after a newspaper report detailing alleged financial impropriety, spokeswoman Jessie Duarte said on Friday.

"It's not true. We have heard this rumour all morning long," she said.

The Mail & Guardian newspaper reported that he was swamped with debt and efforts to cope had allegedly included forging signatures of senior Gauteng government officials on a letter that may have secured him a loan from a property businessman.

An emotional Niehaus told radio station SAFM: "I have written a message this morning [Friday] to the secretary general and the treasury general of the ANC and I have offered my resignation.

"I've always been employed by the ANC and I've always accepted the discipline of the ANC. The ANC is not an organisation for me which I consider just to be an organisation. It is my family. It is the organisation I love and I will never do anything deliberately to damage this organisation and I will always accept its discipline."

Duarte said they were looking into the matter, but her immediate reaction to the article was that it contained inaccuracies.

Of course we trust Jesse Duarte, do we not? I mean no irregularities in her past....

Typical response from Duarte - the article contains inaccuracies. Big fat hairy deal. Niehaus said as much this morning on 702 - but that implies that it contains thruths too. And the simple truth is that he is a liar and a fraudster.

Yes, he admitted it. Big up for that. But the facts ought to mean that he could never be a spokesman for anyone. He has no credibility.

Proves once again that the ANC values 'struggle credentials' before honesty and integrity. Criminal records are still seen as a honor badge for having stood up against the previous regime, an invite into the club per se. Problem is they are accepting real criminals like Niehaus & others into the club as well - fraud isn't a minor crime deserving just a slap on the wrist.

We are being governed by a bunch of common criminals yet most voters are too ignorant to vote the other way.

ANC = MAJOR FAIL!!!

Now, I am thinking we have crimes committed and a whole bunch of complicity in defeating the ends of justice. So all those that knew about the crimes should be leaving office soon.

In the article, he mentions that his 2nd wife, from whom he is now divorced, had a very extravagant lifestyle and he thought he had to 'buy' her love in order to keep her.

Surely this guy is not a total idiot and would know that that is not love ... ?

Every guy becomes an idiot when he gets married. Say that to Mr Blu.
Scary thought.

Not evey person who is married, believe that they have to buy their spouse's love. Some are very strict in holding the financial reins.

Sad.
Saw him on telly the other night reacting to the overseas voter issue. He sounded, looked and disembled exactly like a Nat politician.

It gets much worse

Niehaus was caught out - Gauteng govt

JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng government independently discovered that ANC spokesman Carl Niehaus had forged a letter to secure a loan, it said on Friday denying that he first brought the matter to its attention by confessing.

"The government would like to state the following that: the alleged incident was detected by the [Gauteng Economic Development Agency] itself, the then chairperson of the board, Mr Keith Khoza, investigated and confronted Mr Niehaus about the allegations, Mr Niehaus resigned from GEDA as soon as the allegations surfaced," it said.

The Gauteng government did not suffer any losses and "no action could be taken after he resigned", it said in a statement.

Spokesman Simon Zwane told Sapa the government believed that the matter had been handled in a way where no money had been lost and so there would be no point in taking it further.

"What would the organisation benefit?" he asked. "The situation had been handled and no loss incurred."

So he lied again?

So why exactly did he owe Rhema 700 Grand?

They are so rich from ripping off their congregation they can dish out huge loans to staff ?
