COPE must have a large amount of 'dirties' on the ANC. I think more things will start filtering through running up to the election. Niehaus, the first of many?

Niehaus won't be thrown in the dustbin - Mantashe

SA: The land of second (and third, and....) chances:
The ANC accepted Carl Niehaus's resignation as the party's spokesman, it announced on Friday.

He will however remain in the organisation but in a different position, said African National Congress secretary-general Gwede Mantashe at a press briefing at the party's headquarters in Johannesburg.

Said Mantashe: "We emphasise that he is a cadre of the movement who suffered a great deal for the ANC but that is no justification to do wrong... It is the responsibility of the movement to counsel cadres and facilitate them."

"Activists can't just be thrown in the dustbin saying he or she has outgrown their usefulness."

Niehaus is the idiot who wrote an article that essentially said party loyalty is more important than the welfare of the country. That it is wrong to question or criticise the decisions of the party leadership no matter that those decisions are going to harm the country.

Yeah - but the point is if you are a known liar and fraudster how can you possibly ever expect to have any credibility as a spokesperson? Fired.
Being a good liar is a primary skill for a spin doctor. You are not supposed to get caught lying, or if you do you have to be good enough to spin that.

Spin doctor blames ‘chaotic’ ruling party for his massive debt

A broke and blacklisted Carl Niehaus faces eviction from a plush, R5-million mansion for failing to pay the monthly rental of R45000 since July last year.

His landlord, businessman Eric Corbishley, has had enough and is no longer buying the lies of the former ANC spin doctor.

Ironically, it is the ruling party — which on Friday threw Niehaus a lifeline in the form of debt counselling and redeployment within the organisation — that he blames for his failure to cough up the rent arrears, which now stand at more than R300000.

Not really, except if you support the ANC financially.

Think about it: we pay taxes, thanks to corruption globs of that tax revenue ends up lining the pockets of tw0ts like Niehaus, so... yup, we do end up paying for these turkeys.

Carl Niehaus: the skeletons tumble out

... Niehaus lied to the law firm where he was employed as an empowerment and transformation consultant (at R100,000 a month) to get it to pay for a return business class ticket to London for himself and his then wife Linda Thango. Niehaus was involved in organising an ANC concert in London, but he told the firm, AL Mostert & Co, that his sister had died and he had to attend the funeral.

The untruth was exposed when Thango, whom Niehaus had insisted be employed as his personal assistant, let slip on their return that they had seen his sister the day before. The article quoted Tony Mostert as saying he had been "dreadfully disappointed in the man's total lack of ethics."

...

The Sunday World reported that Niehaus had spent a night in police cells at Sun City last year after being unable to pay a R70,000 bill. He had spent four days at the Lost City hotel with Thango and her mother but did not have enough money on his credit cards to settle the account. He offered Thango's Porsche as surety but this was turned down as it was not in his name. Niehaus told the newspaper: "Yes, I was arrested and it is true that I spent a night at the police cells and I was released the following day on bail. But I managed to settle my bill and the case was closed."

His wife drove a Porsche?

This crook needs to be booted to the curb... but he's no better than the rest of the ANC cadres it seems.. he just has more expensive tastes.

Wonder how long before the comrades will get a concert event
going for Carl Niehaus, it would be fitting to use this song -

Goodbye Carl Niehaus
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They set you on the treadmill
And they made you change your name

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
