Good Old-fashioned Quality

I just got a Canon EOS and am loving it. :) It's got a nice heft to it.

I'm also a Canon user. I had (still have, but never use it) an old A120 digital camera. A full 1.2megapixel resolution.

Then last year August I bougth a 350D. By far the best Pro/Sumer camera out there.

To me Canon makes the best camera by far.

Is it worth buying a 400D or just go for the 350D and with the G7 range is it worth spending the extra as then you can have different lenses.

Have to agree. Using the Powershot S50, had it for 2 and a half years and still going strong. Can't wait to put my hands on the EOS, though.

From what I can tell the main differences between the 400 and 350 are the 400 has a higher resolution, larger screen, and it's ability to deal with dust. The 400D is my first digital SLR so I really dont have much basis for comparison.

I wonder if the dust thing is a good option and maybe by going for the higher resolution it is more future proof.

Bwana can you see much of a difference on the pics at the highest resolution?

From what I've read the dust thing is a great thing if you change lenses often. From what I understand it operates on many levels but to me the most interesting is how it can map each speck of dust and then pass that info on to the desktop software.

As far as resolution goes who knows. :) For the average Joe 8mp is going to be ample and the 2mp difference is probably minimal.

I have enough memory available to shoot everything in RAW so the only available option is shooting in max resolution.

What mem card did you get and who did you buy it from, or who did you find to be the cheapest.

The camera came in a bundle from HiFi with a 50x kingston 1gb card. The next day I got the iPod camera connector and another 1gb card (80x Lexar).
