Sounds like a ripoff to me. You can get the printer for £20. My BiL has one of the older Selphys, and I think it's a total waste of money - his can only print jpegs.

No - I've got one and the printer paper costs a fortune for what it is.

SD Cards are pretty cheap these days too.

IMO you're better off with the aforementioned bundle - http://www.makro.co.za/ProductDetail.aspx?cat=1191&prod=43126&SKU=000000000000149577|EA - flog the printer if you like and just get your prints from a fuji kiosk.

I'll do one or two prints if I'm pressed for time - my nearest shop is about 20km away so that needs to be factored into the price per print.

I bought my 1000d for R6999, also a bundle with the a small p&s canon and camera bag. SI bought it, sold the little p&s for R900, so the camera actually cost me R6100, incl the camera bag which is fine for me. Looks out for the game ads, they normally do the nikon special one weekend, and this canon one the next.
