Good SP games for PS3

seems like you didnt press enough buttons to "make awesome happen". :D
I was so annoyed with the crap crap crap story and the telling there of.

It was a total disappointment. Luckily it was a BT Games rental - if I'd spent (more) money on it I'd have been rather pissed.

Having a blast with Dirt2 at the moment, though. It's good to see my reflexes are still up to the job at my age. :o

God of War3 definitely, violent, but epic.
If you enjoy GTA, then Saints Row 2 (bit old but still good)

And if you can wait a few months, rugby 2012 :-)

Why not just get GTA IV? Or it's western equivalent - Red Dead Redemption.

Anyway any single-player games list without Mass Effect 2 in it should be null and void :P

For some variety, once you have finished GTA IV.
Its a bit more 'gangsta' - so if you have spinners on your car, and anything bigger than a 10inch speaker in your car, go for Saints Row first. By this definition, if you're from the South of JHb, you will fall in this category
:-)

Yea, as mentioned , Dragon Age 2 feels more like a console port on PC than a PC game. It plays alot like those asian action-rpgs now, you know where you run 2 steps and *poof* 15 mobs materialize all around you and you jump around smashing into groups of mobs and then just as you kill the last one, a stronger bunch will materialize . Dragon Age 1 of course is literally a totally different game, PC gamers would call Dragon Age 2 a "dumbed down" version of DA 1 .

DA2 combat actually reminds me of something like Devil May Cry , just without all the combos ....but it looks like that is where they were heading with it.

And I'd prefer to just get the actual Devil May Cry game if I want that :) Thanks for the feedback, I'll reconsider.

On that same topic, do any fans of the Final Fantasy series recommend 13? I know it's fairly outdated and the gameplay is repetitive, but I enjoyed that game back in the early PS2 days. That and Tekken :3

I feel Mass Effect 2 was overrated. Number 1 was better.

The combat mechanics in ME1 really sucked - only one shortcut for special power, the cover system, the overheating weapons, etc. You only realise how bad it is after going back and playing it after playing ME2.

What was better in ME1 was that there were a lot more RPG elements, and you had much more control. Thankfully some of that will be making it's way back to ME3.

Thats the thing when I bought mass effect 2 I wanted a rpg not gears of war

God Of War was a game i really really enjoyed. The scale of that game was just so epic. Then the Uncharted games they were good fun. I am keen to see what the third one has install for us.

Killzone series is pretty good for shooters, Final Fantasy is brilliant.

If you havn't played Uncharted 1 or 2 you should definately play those! One of the most amazing action/adventure games ever! And not long until Uncharted 3.
I also cannot forget to mention Metal Gear Solid 4!

Definately 2 of my favorite game franchises on the PS3

I notice GTA IV was mentioned only once or twice, is it not that highly rated or is the idea old by now?
I seem to remember that some UK PS3 Magazines rated it very highly.

It's awesome but I found myself getting a bit bored of it after a while. Same with RDR.
