This weekend I've had it with Afrihost and I've decided it's time to lay down my loyalty and find a new ISP.
From constant dropped packets to their incompetent staff, to the incredible greed, I've decided to find a new home.
Having said that, which ISP would you recommend for a power user? I don't mind paying an additional fee to get out of CGNAT, I do mind it being forced down my throat without the common decency of as much as an email.
Im hesitant to even look at cool ideas. It seems they'll drop you in and out of CGNAT on a whim based on what I've read here: https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/cool-ideas-fibre-isp-–-feedback-thread-6.1279361/post-33357443
Any suggestions would be much appreciated
Edit: I am based in Pretoria, and I have both Frogfoot and Openserve Fibre to the residence. What would even be the bees-knees would be a static public IPv4 address, but, I am not holding my breath on that one.
On a slightly unrelated topic, anyone know if it's possible to bypass the ONT and plug the Fibre directly into my SPF port? That would be even better!
