And by try, I mean, force yourself to use it for 3 days.

I was also a firefox fan, until I actually used chrome. It really is a lot faster, starts up faster, and loads stuff pages faster.

it sucks moving over at first, cause you need to sign in again into all the websites you visit... but after that's done it's so worth it.

Tried - no, thank you. Try to open 10 windows a time on the limited resource machine. On IE I can do it, Chrome is a memory dog, it doesn't work.

... not on Fedora 21 it ain't, besides which I'm very happy with the Fox these days - solid as a rock on linux.

I use them all - when it comes to running and rendering the actual pages there's really nothing to choose between them any more.

- Chrome sits on a monitor and hosts all my web apps I run all day, pretty much 7 or 8 of the same tabs all day every day
- IE I use as my main browser because I like the way it ties to my windows login and syncs between all my devices, including my Lumia phone. The way I can see from any device, what tabs are open on all my PCs/devices and the history of all my PCs/devices is awesome.
- FF I use for throwaway tasks where I need to open a bunch of tabs or stuff that I don't want clogging up my other browsers.

Chrome

Tightly followed by Firefox

Them every other browser you can think of and then Internet Explorer

You don't even need to use the Chrome app. You can do video calls within Chrome without the need to install anything. The new Chrome app with chat heads is nice btw.

I don't want to use a "do not disturb" function, because I still don't know wtf my browser needs to notify me about, it's a browser not an OS. I don't think Chrome beat MS to a notification centre, because a notification centre makes sense in an OS, but not for a browser.

And I still don't want to have gtalk in my browser whether it is an app/extension/webpage, I don't care, I typically have 20-60 tabs open, now I need to go hunt through those every time I want to send a message.

Chrome moved away from being a browser to being Google's OS in an OS. And that is not what I want or need. I want a simple, clean web browser, something Chrome prided itself on for the first couple of years, which is sadly not the case anymore.

That's YOUR reality. It might surprise you, but there are people with different opinions and needs in the world to you.

Chromes online profile management won me over :D I just bookmark a link that I want to view at home from work. When I go home, the bookmark is awaiting on the bookmark bar at home... vice versa as well :)

It can notify you of many things like when you receive an email or even a sms/whatsapp message on your phone (Pushbullet). Point is you can disable it. This is complaining for the sake of complaining.

You can pin the Gmail or Google Inbox tab and it will always be right there in the beginning of all your other tabs.

Chrome's notification centre has many useful applications. Pushbullet, Gmail, and the just-launched Whatsapp web-app comes to mind. Works great.

If you don't like it, disable it. You don't have to stop using Chrome because of it.

Think they want to change the whole Microsoft Windows experience into Halo (or bring us to the Space age). First they have Cortana (like Apples Siri), now its Spartan......what's next, "The Pillar of Autumn"???

Agree 100%

For the 1000 odd users we look after:

1. Chrome/FF
2. IE (and only because certain trading apps require it)

anyone who still thinks IE is a good browser is probably also still rocking their blackberry - ignorance is bliss!
