Who's got it on their phones? Instead of the normal Google on Tap?
It's awesome!
Not officially...I'm on 5.1 (don't ask, too lazy to upgrade) and I have it
Mostly quickly searched something, but I love the context awareness of it. Just to keep asking questions or give instructions, like the music example i gave earlier.what have you been using it for? any tips or tricks you want to share?

It's one of the reasons I'm sad that the Pixel is not available here
Fist post ever.
I'm not new to android or rooting or any of that but I'm having trouble with this. I replaced my Nexus 6 with an s7 and its running nougat. I've just changed my Language to English US as I have not received Assistant yet and I really want it.lol
It still doesnt give me Assistant when I hold in the home button. Please help. I'm on Beta Google app and Services, have cleared cache in Google app and still nothing. I'm going mad.![]()
You don't need Pixel, just a phone with Android 6/7
They released it for the iPhone as well[not quite as fully integrated but a damn sight better than that retarded Siri]
PS: What kind of things do you ask it to do?
If I may answer, I like creating meetings while driving, also songs to play. Who to phone... Still need to play around though.

honestly, mostly about the weather. set reminders, control music...
the best part of assistant is the context awareness.
e.g. play me some depeche mode
then: next = plays the next song
then: go back to the previous one = goes back to the first song
or: what's the weather like tomorrow = talks me through the weather for tomorrow
then: and this weekend? = talks me through the weekend's weather
fukk me, just did this, and it worked!
fanie: "Send a whatsapp message to my wife"
assistant: "Who is your wife"
fanie: "[name of wife as per address book]"
assistant: "remember this contacts as your wife?"
fanie: "yes"
assistant: "what is the message"
fanie: [dictates message]
incredible
Even if you askit?this is where the level of integration varies - on the iPhone it won't send the message via Whatsapp, only the native messaging app
