I don't know how well it compares but Chrome has some developer tools built in. I use it occasionally to inspect elements, etc, but have no idea how it compares with firebug, etc.

Yep, built in inspector is pretty good. I haven't extensively used firebug but I find that the built-in inspector in Chrome does its job petty well. Also chrome://net-internals/ as a replacement for LiveHTTPHeaders. Not the best but its something.

Also love it's built-in bookmarks and preferences sync. Allows me to easily move between Chrome on my Windows desktop and Chromium on my Ubuntu netbook. Allows me to sync themes and everything.

I admit Chrome does use quite a bit of memory when you have plenty tabs open but Chrome actually frees up the memory when you close the tabs instead of slowly bringing your system to a grinding halt.

Chrome really has come a long way and has features for all types of users thats why its a pretty good contender for becoming the best overall browser.

I would love to switch to Chrome. but there are so many add-ons that i would miss so much after moving. anyone know if there is a way to move add-ons over from firefox to chrome? doubt it but worth asking.

You can't "move" add-ons but many of the same add-ons for FF should be available for Chrome.

I've moved onto Chrome, mostly because of the speed improvements but also since getting 4mbps uncapped I don't need to scrape download links off pages and queue them for 1 in the morning like I used to, I just watch them there and then :D

I use Chrome now on both Mac and PC. Haven't used Firefox for ages. My Safari use has dropped too. When a site must use IE here are a couple of chrome addons (on windows at least) t that use the IE Engine which means you can browse these sites with IE but stay in chrome! I can also sync my bookmarks across all machines and Os'es using Googles Syncing.

Ummmm....... Right-Click | Inspect Element. Way more powerful then FireBug, esp when it comes to XHR etc.

I frequently need debug and develop web pages and for that job there is really no competition to Firebug, that's my biggest reason for using Firefox.

On another note, all you IE users lurking in the dark, come out so you can be flogged, its for the good of the internet!

Chrome was good up to yesterday - since when I could not connect to any website, not even Google.com.
No problems with FF.
I even downloaded the browser again and installed it. Still not working !!!!!!!!! Anyone with same problem ????

Another thing that irked me about Firefox is the amount of memory it eats up.

I've moved to chrome. I'm not a power browser, so It's simplistic yet elegant UI works really well for me. Now that it has extensions I see no way I'll go back to Opera again. I do however keep 'old faithful' Firefox around for the odd site that has problems with Chrome (which is very, very few).

My Google Chrome is much faster. I enjoy it much more than my Internet Explorer. It is just quick and sleek.

Chrome, is amazing. Moved to it a few month ago and have neva looked back. It even has extensions now, so the one thing that made firefox "better" is soon to be no more.
